(Minnie pov)

In the Great hall, round about midday, People were working on homework or revising for their tests coming up.

As I quietly sat in the shadows of the Gryffindor table, trying not to be seen, Seamus Finnigan, a first year Gryffindor was trying a spell on a cup.

"Eye of rabbit, harp string hum. Turn this water, into rum." I watched him curiously as he peers in cup and shakes head. "Eye of rabbit, harp string hum..."

"What's Seamus trying to do to that glass of water?" I heard Harry ask, I glance over and then shrug as I finished writing in my diary.

Dear Diary,
It's almost lunch time here at Hogwarts and I feel more alone then when I came here. I don't really know how to approach people other than Percy and Oliver... but I'm trying, that's all that matters.

Percy won't give me a break about my unhealthy eating habits or skipping breakfast and eat lunch but no dinner, but I can't- no, I won't admit that he's really helping me, even if I want to smack him with a thick book sometimes. Thanks Percy.

Talking to people makes it harder to breathe, harder to see and harder to think... maybe dad was right.

From Minnie.

"Turn it into rum. Actually managed a weak tea yesterday, before..." I tuned back into the conversation and I flinched from the sudden noise.

ZAPOOF!

The cup exploded. Laughter amongst the other students rang out as his hair stuck up in every which way. I was blank-faced as I just shake my head.

Before you could even say Quidditch, a flock of owls start coming into the hall from the rafters above.

"Ah. Mail's here!" The owls soar by, dropping parcels to students.

Neville, also another first year Gryffindor received a gift and is unwrapping it. It seemed to be a clear ball with gold around it.

"Hey, look! Neville's got a Remembrall!" Seamus announced as everyone looks towards Neville and not himself anymore.

"I've read about those. When the smoke turns red, it means you've forgotten something." Hermione states in a matter-of-fact tone.

My diary locks and I stuffed it away into my book bag before deciding that maybe I should just go to the dorm and have a nap between breaks.

"The only problem is, I can't remember what I've forgotten." Neville said and I scanned him quickly before noticing that Neville wasn't wearing his robe.

"Alice," I look up as Percy rose his eyebrows at me, "have you eaten today?" I purse my lips at the prefect.

"I take that as a no," he mumbled before motioning me to get up, so I did, he sighs as he pats my back softly and we wander off out of the hall.

-

"Eat it Greenwood," I shake my head at the taller, older redhead as he put his hands on his hips and stared me down.

"C'mon, Alice," he begs and I clamped my mouth shut. "You need to eat." Percy never stopped trying to get me to argue with him, or even say 'no'.

I don't even understand why people want me to talk to them half the time, I'm nothing but a boring, nobody.

"Mm-mm," I shake my head and he smiles at me.

"Come on... you know you want to," he coaxes as we stood outside of the kitchen, he always tried to get me to eat with him because: "communication whether it's verbal or not is important" Or whatever he says.
