(Minnie pov) (September 1st)

There was a lot of commotion in the house. From what I heard as I dressed at top speed, I gathered that Fred and George had bewitched their trunks to fly downstairs to save the bother of carrying them, with the result that they had hurtled straight into Ginny and knocked her down two flights of stairs into the hall; Mrs. Black and Mrs. Weasley were both screaming at the top of their voices.

"-COULD HAVE DONE HER A SERIOUS INJURY, YOU IDIOTS-"

"-FILTHY HALF-BREEDS, BESMIRCHING THE HOUSE OF MY FATHERS-"

I rolled my eyes as I shrunk my trunk and put it into my backpack as I raced down the stairs, tying my Gryffindor tie.

"Mrs Weasley?!" I shouted as I jumped over the railing, "merlins," I groaned as I fixed Fred's shirt before I kept running.

"Yes dear?" She asks me, flustered.

"Accio toast!" I grabbed a piece and handed it to her, "morning." I smile as I then disapparated and apparated around the house, helping everyone get themselves ready.

"We're going to be late!" I shouted, apparating into Ron and Harry's room.

"Bloody hell!" Ron yelps, I scared him.

"Is Ginny all right?" Harry asked, shoving on his glasses.

"Oh, she's fine," I told him, then clapped my hands, "chop chop, let's go."

"You sound like my mum," Ron groans.

"We don't want you and Harry to fly a car to Hogwarts again," I grinned, "now hurry up."

"Fine."

Crack!

"Stop apparating!" Sirius shouts at me.

"No!" I shouted back, "you stop chasing your tail now, snuffles!" Fred and George laughed as I handed Moody my backpack, "my trunk is inside it." I told him.

"Smart," he growled, "go on." I nod.

"WILL YOU LOT GET DOWN HERE NOW, PLEASE!" Mrs. Weasley bellowed

Mrs. Black's portrait was howling with rage but nobody was bothering to close the curtains over her; all the noise in the hall was bound to rouse her again, anyway.

"Harry, you're to come with me and Tonks!" Mrs. Weasley shouted over the repeated screeches of "MUDBLOODS! SCUM! CREATURES OF DIRT!"

"Leave your trunk and your owl, Alastor's going to deal with the luggage... Oh, for heavens sake, Sirius, Dumbledore said no!"

A bearlike black dog had appeared at Harry's side as he was clambering over the various trunks cluttering the hall to get to Mrs. Weasley.

"Oh honestly..." Mrs. Weasley said despairingly, "well, on your own head be it!"

She wrenched open the front door and stepped out into the weak September sunlight. Harry and the dog followed her. The door slammed behind them.
