(Minnie pov)
(Quidditch day)
Fighting the urge to roll over and go back to sleep, I decided to get up and get some early breakfast with the Quidditch Team.
I slipped out of bed with a small yawn while putting my glasses on. It took great strength for me to not lie back down in the warmth of my bed, but I had to go down.
-
I was finally dressed in my clothes and headed through the portrait hole alone.
"Stand and fight, you mangy cur!" Sir Cadogan yells and I groaned.
"Oh, shut up," I yawned, leaving for the Great hall.
-
As I crunched happily on my toast, I saw Harry walking up to where I was and he sat himself down tiredly.
"Morning, Harry," I smile as he scooped up some porridge and put it into a bowl.
"Morning," he yawns as he shrugs and laid his head on my shoulder while he spooned the hot porridge into his mouth.
Not long after, the team came and joined us, muttering 'good mornings' and 'why so early?'
"It's going to be a tough one," Oliver said, who wasn't eating anything.
"Stop worrying, Oliver," Alicia said soothingly, "we don't mind a bit of rain."
I watch Oliver closely before making him a plate of breakfast and then slid it towards him.
"Eat," I order and he sighs before picking up his fork and slowly ate his breakfast.
-
But it was considerably more than a bit of rain. Such was the popularity of Quidditch that the whole school turned out to watch the match as usual, but they ran down the lawns toward the Quidditch field, heads bowed against the ferocious wind, umbrellas being whipped out of their hands as they went.
The team changed into their scarlet robes and waited for Oliver's usual pre-match pep talk, but it didn't come. He tried to speak several times, made an odd gulping noise, then shook his head hopelessly.
"Okay," I say and they all looked at me, "it's a mess outside with the rain and the chilling wind, but you know damn well you can beat Hufflepuff. You know the boards, the lectures and the training, use it to your advantage!" They all nod as I stood there beside Oliver. "They don't stand a chance against you all, you got this now let's win this match!"
They all cheered before Oliver beckoned them to follow him. All of the team members ruffle my hair as they passed me. Oliver looks back and smiles.
"Thank you!" He shouts over the wind, I smile as I waved.
"Good luck!" I shout back and he nods before he kept walking, my smile fades as the wind howls again.
-
I sat in a seat and watched as the wind was so strong that the team staggered sideways as they walked out onto the field.
