(Minnie pov) (a week later)
Angelina and I were on the move, we had to tell Harry and Ron, as well as the rest of the team about Quidditch Practise.
-
"Hey everyone!" The team looked at us, "sorry to announce this, but the practice is cancelled for tonight."
"Aw what!" George groans.
"Seriously, again?" Fred shakes his head as he looked at George. "Now we can test some things out, I guess."
Then they both grinned.
"Good," Harry said quietly, "because we've found somewhere to have our first Defense meeting. Tonight, eight o'clock, seventh floor opposite that tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy being clubbed by those trolls. Can you tell Katie and Alicia?"
Angelina and I looked slightly taken aback but promised to tell the others.
"Min!" I flinched before turning around, it was Ginny, "hey, Minnie, I have a favour to ask."
"Sure," I said.
"There's a red shirt you used to wear, can I borrow it?" I nod my head and went to leave with her, then Fred got out of his chair and took my hand.
"It's just the common room," I told him, "I'll be okay." Fred shakes his head.
"He won't leave you alone, you know that don't you?" George said to me.
"I do know, but I'm with Ginny," I say to Fred, "it's okay." He let my hand go and reluctantly sat down.
"Fine," he sighs, then takes my hand again and then he kisses it, "see you soon." I smile as he let me go and I walked off with Ginny.
-
"And then this stupid-" I stopped talking as the door appeared where Harry said it would.
"Here we are," Fred grins and the four of us walked into the room.
-
By the time eight o'clock arrived, every cushion was occupied. I watch as Harry moved across to the door and turned the key protruding from the lock; it clicked in a satisfyingly loud way and everybody fell silent, looking at him. Hermione carefully marked her page of Jinxes for the Jinxed and set the book aside.
"Well," Harry said, slightly nervously. "This is the place we've found for practices, and you've- er- obviously found it okay-"
"It's fantastic!" Cho said, and several people murmured their agreement.
"It's bizarre," Fred said, frowning around at it. "We once hid from Filch in here, remember, George? But it was just a broom cupboard then..."
"I've been in here with you before too..." I look around, "but that was-" he covers my mouth and I giggled.
"Hey, Harry, what's this stuff?" Dean asked from the rear of the room, indicating the Sneakoscopes and the Foe-Glass.
"Dark Detectors," Harry said, stepping between the cushions to reach them. "Basically they all show when Dark wizards or enemies are around, but you don't want to rely on them too much, they can be fooled..."
"Well, I've been thinking about the sort of stuff we ought to do first and- er-" He noticed a raised hand. "What, Hermione?"
"I think we ought to elect a leader," Hermione said.
"Harry's leader," Cho said at once, looking at Hermione as though she were mad.
"Yes, but I think we ought to vote on it properly," Hermione said, unperturbed. "It makes it formal and it gives him authority. So- everyone who thinks Harry ought to be our leader?" Everybody put up their hands, even Zacharias, though he did it very halfheartedly.
