(Third person pov)
Christmas was coming. One morning in mid-December, Hogwarts woke to find itself covered in several feet of snow.
The lake froze solid and the Weasley twins were punished for bewitching several snowballs so that they followed Quirrell around, bouncing off the back of his turban.
The few owls that managed to battle their way through the stormy sky to deliver mail had to be nursed back to health by Hagrid before they could fly off again.
No one could wait for the holidays to start. While the Gryffindor common room and the Great Hall had roaring fires, the drafty corridors had become icy and a bitter wind rattled the windows in the classrooms.
(Minnie pov)
I sat in the Great Hall beside Harry as him and Ron were playing Wizards chess.
There were students who were leaving and ghosts are singing some carols.
"Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas, ring the Hogwarts bell. Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas..."
I heard the wheeling of a cart, so I look up to see Hermione approaching as she held the handle to the cart.
"Knight to E-5." Harry orders, I glanced at the chess piece as it moves across the board.
"Queen to E-5." Ron orders as his queen walks over to E-5 and clinks the knight away.
"That's totally barbaric!" Hermione said.
"That's wizard's chess. I see you've packed." He eyes her cart before looking back at her.
"See you haven't." She retorts.
"Change of plans. My parents decided to go to Romania to visit my brother, Charlie. He's studying dragons there!"
Charlie? Dragons? I like dragons and I missed Charlie. I look at Ron as he then smiles at me.
"Good. You can help Harry, then. He's going to go the library for information on Nicholas Flamel." My eyebrows furrowed, but then I went back to my book in silence.
"We've looked a hundred times!" Ron whined at her.
"Not in the restricted section... Happy Christmas." I watch as she leaves.
"I think we've had a bad influence on her." Ron told Harry before he looks back at me, "what are you reading?"
I held my book up and he nods before I continue reading.
"My brothers, Fred and George, they say you read all the time," Ron said and I nod my head.
"Do you know anything about Nicholas Flamel?" Harry questions and I think for a moment before shaking my head and they groaned.
"Do you think you could maybe help us?" Ron asks with a hopeful smile. I shrug before nodding.
"We got luck on our side," Harry says and the boys high-five over the table.

I went into Moaning Myrtle's bathroom and looked around for her.
"Oh? A visitor?" I heard her say as she squeals before flying out of a dirty sink, she saw me standing there and I smile.
"Myrtle." I clear my throat and then fix my scarf.
"Are you leaving for Christmas this year?" I shake my head, "oh! Oh! Oh! Well then, you are in luck!"
She squeals as she flies around again, "peeves solemnly swore he would leave you alone this year, has he kept his promise?"
I nod my head and she smiles.
