(Minnie pov) (Near Christmas time)

I was reading my book in the common room, trying to ignore the gleeful shouts drifting up from the grounds outside, where students were enjoying themselves skating on the frozen lake, tobogganing and, worst of all, bewitching snowballs to zoom up to Gryffindor Tower and rap hard on the windows.

"Oi!" Ron bellowed, making me jump as he was finally losing patience and stuck his head out of the window, "I am a prefect and if one more snowball hits this window- OUCH!"

He withdrew his head sharply, his face covered in snow. I started laughing.

"It's Fred and George," he said bitterly, I got off the seat and stuck my head out of the window.

"Hey princess!" Fred smirks up at me, waving.

"Hello you two," I say sweetly, "now, knock it off and let me read for Pete sake!" I shouted, slamming the window behind me. "Gits..." I grumbled, falling into the chair beside Ron.

"And you think I'm mean to them," Ron rolled his eyes.

"Do not, they're annoying my reading time," I mutter, fiddling with my promise ring before yawning, "how's Hagrid?"

"How'd you know that we went to see him?" Harry asked.

"I heard you leaving and then saw you leaving through the window," I reply.

"We had the cloak," Ron mentions.

"I saw one of your feet, you do know that cloak when you run kicks up, don't you?" We look at each other and then he huffs, "and it's wolfbane." I point to his homework.

"Cheers."

"What?" I asked Angelina as she sighs, "you did it?"

"Yep," she rocked on her feet dully, "I managed to get new beaters, you're my new seeker and I know you can play." She said, fire lighting in her eyes. "How was Umbridge?"

"She threatened to ban me from my position if I talked to her again, so I made a little letter to Oliver." She rose an eyebrow. "Wait till he hears about his team."

"Oh don't tell me-" I nod my head, "if he gets us all banned-"

"It's Oliver Wood," she shut her mouth and nods, "so, who are the newbies?"

"Andrew Kirke," Angelina said without showing a hint of excitement, "and Jack Sloper. Neither of them are brilliant, but compared to the rest of the idiots who turned up... they were better."

"Do... Do the boys know?" I ask worriedly.

"... Not yet," she replies, "we have the D.A. Meeting, remember?" I nod as I left with her to go to the meeting.

Me, Angelina, Katie and Alicia. All four of us were breathless and looked very cold as we entered the room.

"Well," Angelina said dully, pulling off her cloak and throwing it into a corner, "we've finally replaced the beaters." She said to Harry.

"Who?" Harry said quickly.

"Andrew Kirke," Alicia said without enthusiasm, "and Jack Sloper. Neither of them are brilliant, but compared to the rest of the idiots who turned up..."
