(Third person)

The weather worsened steadily as the first Quidditch match drew nearer. Undaunted, the Gryffindor team was training harder than ever under the eye of Madam Hooch.

(Minnie pov)

There had been strong winds and heavy rain all day, as I ran as fast as I could, I couldn't think of anything else but how cold it was.

Splash!
Splash!
Splash!

I heard a distant rumble of thunder as I ducked under the flap of the pitch and then went into the field where the team was, huddled around while they listened to Oliver.

"...Think it'll damage their chances..." I slowed myself down to catch my breath as I walk towards the quidditch team.

Fred turned to see me huffing before lifting his arm as his quidditch robe sleeve covered my head.

"You're late, Minnie," Oliver said to me sharply. I ring out my curly hair and sighed heavily, shivers going down my spine from the rain.

"Shut up." I smile sarcastically at Oliver and he ignores me. While we stood there, we heard another distant rumble of thunder.

"Wood, there's nothing wrong with Malfoy's arm!" Harry said furiously. "He's faking it!"

"I'm lost..." I whispered to Fred.

"I know that, but we can't prove it," Oliver said bitterly, "And we've been practicing all those moves assuming we're playing Slytherin, and instead it's Hufflepuff, and their style's quite different. They've got a new Captain and Seeker, Cedric Diggory-"

Angelina, Alicia, and Katie suddenly giggled.

"What?" Oliver said, frowning at this lighthearted behavior.

"He's that tall, good-looking one, isn't he?" Angelina asks.

"Strong and silent," Katie states, and they started to giggle again.

"He's only silent because he's too thick to string two words together," Fred said impatiently. "I don't know why you're worried, Oliver, Hufflepuff is a pushover. Last time we played them, Harry caught the Snitch in about five minutes, remember?"

"We were playing in completely different conditions!" Oliver shouted, his eyes bulging slightly. "Diggory's put a very strong side together! He's an excellent Seeker! I was afraid you'd take it like this! We mustn't relax! We must keep our focus! Slytherin is trying to wrong-foot us! We must win!"

"Oliver, calm down!" Fred said, looking slightly alarmed. "We're taking Hufflepuff very seriously. Seriously."

"Yeah right..." I mumbled and then Fred glared down at me while my arms crossed.

"Who's your umbrella again?" Fred asks me and I held his arm up, "yeah, that's what I thought."

"Why am I here again?" I sighed and Oliver looks at me.

"Need your help with the board, we need new tactics and you're the only one who can help me right now." Oliver said. I groaned while Fred laughs at me.

"Shut up, Weasley," I grumbled as George joined in on the laughter.

(Later that evening)

I rolled over and tried to get back to sleep, but it was very difficult, now that I was very much awake.

I tried to ignore the sounds of the thunder rumbling overhead, the pounding of the wind against the castle walls, and the distant creaking of the trees in the Forbidden Forest.
