Kean and Celine Fraire are a match made in heaven. When they first met each other, they knew they belonged together but they were too young. When Kean went back to Ireland, Celine tried to forget him and focused on other things but 4 years later, she just found herself on the way to Ireland for vacation. Even though she denied it to herself, she knew that she was hoping to see Kean and fate didn’t let her down. They were reunited and got married the next year.

A year after going back to the Philippines, Celine gave birth to their first child, Hezekiah Heath or Eze as they usually call him. Three years later, Eze became an older brother when Era was born. Kean and Celine named their daughter Heather Emerald. A day after she was born, an earthquake struck Luzon. Luckily, when Kean and Celine arrived at the nursery, Era wasn’t hurt but that wasn’t the case for the couple next to them—in the very same room, that they didn’t even notice.

John and Monique Martinez are two of the richest and most successful businessmen and women in the country. Several hours after Monique gave birth to their second child, a 7.3 magnitude earthquake occurred. When they arrived at the nursery, it was already too late. Their newborn child died because of the debris and when help arrived, the baby was already dead.

When his parents finally came home from the hospital, Valentine excitedly ran to meet them but his huge smile slowly faded away when he didn’t see a baby.

“Where is she?” asked the 3-year-old boy.

“She’s not feeling well. We left her at the hospital but we’ll get her soon, okay?

“No! She’s not, John! You saw her too, didn’t you? She was there. She was with another woman. Let’s get her now, John. Please. Let’s get our daughter now,” pagmamakaawa ni Monique sa asawa ngunit niyakap na lang siya nito’t naluha.

It’s painful for John to see his wife like this but for a young Valentine Martinez, it’s disturbing. He heard his father say that his sister is already dead but why is his mother insisting to get her? He doesn’t know what to think and a lot of presumptions came into his young mind about that scene but all of that dissolved when one day, his parents brought home a child.

“Say hi to your sister, Val,” tuwang-tuwang saad ni Monique kay Valentine habang karga ang isang batang babae.

John smiled when he saw how happy Monique was and Valentine saw that so he smiled too. It seems like his mother is okay now.

When Valentine turned his head to look at the child, his smile faded. This child has green eyes. It’s amazing but how is that possible?

5-year-old Valentine was still confused but when he looked at the toddler again, he knew that whatever the reason why her eyes were green, he’d still love her just the same because she was his little sister.

Author's Note:

I've been writing this story for more or less 7 years already. I started plotting this story in 2013 or so but I kept on changing the prologue and the sequences because there are A LOT of characters involved. After finalizing the sequences, I've also decided that I'll use the original names and family names I've thought of years ago except for the protagonist's. She was originally named Emerald Emerson but I changed their family name to Fraire. Same as XZ Martinez who was originally named Rian Martinez in my very first draft. (I used Rian in another story but I don't know when I can publish it :<)

Shinare ko lang ang backstory nito para alam niyo rin. I originally wrote everything in first person POV but I changed it to third person POV (sipag, 'no?) because I felt like the story itself is kind of 2010-era Wattpad so gusto ko naman makipagsabayan kahit papaano sa mga stories ngayon lalo na't 2020 na 😅 Keep in mind na lang din na I was very young when I wrote this for the very first time sa notebook ko noon kaya ganito ang plot, naimpluwensiyahan ng mga pinapanood kong telenovela noon (hello, Mara Clara, Walang Hanggan, Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin, Tayong Dalawa, etc.) 😆

Also, this story contains words not suitable for young readers. No, there will be no bed scenes and such but there will be curse words in Filipino and English—even German and Italian, thanks to Sebastian, and I will not censor them or put asterisk/s (*) as I believe you know that these words are not to be used lightly.

This story means a lot to me. I mean, gets niyo naman siguro kasi nga ang tagal kong sinulat, arte ko kasi HAHAHA kaya I hope you enjoy reading this one!
