I woke up to Din moving next to me before quickly getting out of the small handing hammock that we shared. "What's wrong." I called to Din's retreating figure. He didn't respond to me as he was now almost at the top off the ladder. He must of not heard me. I could hear an alarm going off around us as red lights in the ship flashed. The child woke up cooing at me causing me to speak.
"I'm still mad at you." The child's ears went down at my words as he looked at floor. "I forgive you. Just no more biting." The child's ears perked back up. "And no more eating those." I said as I nodded my head towards the frog lady's spawn. I wasn't too sure how I was going to explain to her that the child had eaten a couple of her spawns. Maybe she won't even notice. "You stay here. I'll find out what's going on." I said as I gave the child a quick kiss on the cheek before closing the compartment. I turned away from the door before climbing up the ladder to see Din at the controls, the frog lady was still asleep.
"Hey, what's going on?" I said as I walked towards Din only for him to shake his head.
"We're being-."
"Do you have Calyptra Labonair on your ship?" I froze at the mention of my full name from the transmission. Din turned to me before answering the transmission.
"No, we parted a while ago."
"Do you know where she went?" The man over the coms asked. I slowly leaned forward to see two X-Wings on either sides of us.
"No." Din spoke without hesitation. "Why do you ask?"
"Just asking, one more thing. I'm gonna need you to send us a ping. We're out here sweeping for Imperial holdouts." The man over the coms spoke.
"I'll let you know if I see any." Din said back before cutting off his connection to them momentarily.
"Calyptra, get in a seat." Hearing Din use my first name let me know that he was serious. I walked over to the seat across from the sleeping frog lady. Din continued to stall the men while I tighten the straps on the seat. I looked up giving him a nod once I was done.
"If we can't confirm you're not Imperial, you're gonna have to follow us to the outpost at Adelphi. They'll run your tabs."
Din immediately responded to the X-Wings causing the frog lady to abruptly wake up. She made a gasp at the suddenly shock that we were all in the cockpit with her.
"Be quiet." Din shushed her.
"What's that?"
"Uh, nothing. The hypervac is drawing off the exhaust manifold." Din spoke only for the men to not answer back regarding Din's last statement.
"Carson, can you switch over to channel two?"
"Copy." The other man side before cutting off the link with Din.
"This is bad." I said as I bounced my left leg as anxiety had set it. "You are buckled in, right?" Din asked turning his head this time to look at me. Before I could respond the wings on the X-Wings expanded out, they were preparing for a fight.
"Was your craft in the proximity of New Republic Correctional Transport, Bothan-Five?" One of them asked causing it to get really silent. There was thick paused before Din quickly descended the ship at a quick speed. Din entered the ship into a planet's atmosphere that was thick off clouds. The ship moved rigorously from side to side as Din tried to shake off the X-Wings.
"Razor Crest, stand down. We will fire. I repeat, we will fire."
Din took a quick turn around some clouds before halting the ship. We were still momentarily until Din cut the power causing us to free fall. I gasped at the sudden stomach drop before closing my eyes tightly. The frog lady next to me started to scream as she threw her hands up to grab onto any part of the ship. I could feel myself going in and out, getting closer to fainting as the feeling continued. We twisted and turned in the air as I could feel our journey to the ground get closer.
