I looked over my shoulder. The dawn was the most beautiful sunrise I had ever seen. But the sun was red. Which meant blood had been split that night. And much had. Orc blood, that is. I smirked. I turned my head back.

"What are you smirking at?" Thorin asked.

"Oh, nothing." I looked down.

He rolled his eyes. "Let's move," he said. "The Orcs are going to catch up to us sooner or later. Let's make as much distance as we can."

"Aye," the company grumbled.

Thorin pulled his hand from mine and we collected what little materials we had left.

I stared at my hand for a minute. Thorin had certainly changed. But why? What had changed his mind? He'd hugged Bilbo for cryin' out loud. I had never seen him hug anybody before.

We started down the cliff. I chose not to walk up front with Thorin, but in the middle by myself. On either side of me, Kili and Fili confidently strode up and swung their arms around my shoulders, making me hunch more than I already was.

"Almost defiled by goblins..." Fili teased in a sarcastic serious tone. "I do believe there is no worse fate."

"Oh, I think there may be," I said.

They looked at me intently. I rolled my eyes.

"Why do you think Azog gained the name 'Azog the Defiler'?"

They looked at each other and started laughing.

"Now, that is revolting," Kili said.

I nodded. They let out sighs.

"I do believe our uncle is growing quite fond of you, Jaedda," Fili slyly suggested. I whipped my head towards him.

"What are you talking about?!"

"Nothing gets past us, Nymphy," Kili warned. "We saw your hand slip into his."

"That..." I started, furrowing my brows. "That, was...just a...um..."

The brothers burst out laughing.

"Whatever you say," Fili mumbled.

"Really!" I exclaimed. "It was a sour of the moment."

They rolled their eyes.

The company walked on and on for the rest of the day, only stopping once for food, water and rest.

The sun was setting. We had made it deep into a forest.

"We'll camp here," Thorin ordered. "Then we'll leave at first light tomorrow."

The company nodded and murmured. Dwalin started a fire. We gathered around it as Bofur started to make supper for us. Instead of a serious dinner, we had a light spirited evening, full of dancing and singing. We played games until we all grew tired and the full moon rose high.

"Get some rest," Gandalf ordered. "We make head for Mirkwood tomorrow."

I let out a groan. I did not want to have any dealings with King Thranduil. Despite is charm and impossibly handsome face, the Elf was an absolute bastard. I had never met him, but from what I had heard, he was not someone who I wanted to have dealings with.

I walked away from the rest of the company, hoping for some time to myself. Despite this, someone followed after me. I turned my head to see who it was. Thorin.

"We should talk," he said.

"About what?"

He walked up to me and pushed my shoulder down so I sank to the ground. I plopped down. He sat next to me.

"I've said many terrible things to you," he admitted. I lifted my eyebrows. "Things that didn't need to be said." He looked down. "And for that I am truly sorry."

I rested a hand on his arm. "It's alright," I said.

"No, it isn't," he disagreed. "I was wrong. Very, very wrong. And I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me."

I smiled weakly. "I forgive you, Thorin Oakenshield."

He smiled back, his teeth perfect. "You're a good person, Jaedda Thorn," he said. "If there were more people like you in the world, it would be a merrier place."

"Thank you," I said. He looked sternly ahead.

"Thorin," I started. He looked back at me.

"Yes?"

"After this quest is fulfilled, do you still wish for me to leave you?"

He stared at me for a moment. "No," he said. "No, I do not wish it."

I nodded. "Whatever you say."

So....He apologized. I thought it was too late.

"Azog the Defiler...that makes him sound like a rapist," Avery said.

I nodded my head in agreement. we continued watching the movie. We winced.

"Oooh, did he just cut off Azog's balls?!" she asked.

I nodded. "Guess his defiling days are over."

Lol go follow acg1997 she's the baddest bitch you will ever meet and she is in love with Thranduil.

After we saw BOTFA on Saturday, we went to eat froyo. While we were doing this, we were fangirling about it. She started reading Thranduil fanfic, and I started watching hobbit vines.
