Leap of Faith

Elsbeth twirled as she took a strike at Maiguh with her sword. "How was that?"

"Very elegant," Maiguh said laughing slightly, "though you may want to look before you attempt a strike, that one would have cut my cloak off."

"Oh," Elsbeth said, looking embarrassed. She lowered her sword and blushed slightly.

"You are improving greatly," Maiguh said.

"Thank you," Elsbeth answered, "my mom never really let me play with swords."

Just then an Enderman appeared beside Maiguh. Elsbeth smiled slightly, but then her smile faltered as it let forth terrible screeches. Maiguh listened with a stoney expression.

"What's happened?" Elsbeth asked him.

Maiguh just shook his head, "the Ender Dragon has entered the overworld."

"How?" Elsbeth asked, "the portals don't work."

"He must have a different way." Maiguh said.

"What are we going to do!" Elsbeth said, "my mom is there and now the Ender Dragon will go after her!"

She stabbed her sword into the ground. "Ow," she muttered.

"I'm not sure how much we can do until Onicent releases us." Maiguh said softly, he took ahold of the sword and pulled it out of the stone, heading it over to her.

"It might be too late by then! They need our help." Elsbeth told him, "please can we try to do something."

"We can try," Maiguh said at last.

"Thank you," Elsbeth said. "Now think, what do we know and what can we do. The Enderman can still travel, but no one can speak their language. So I guess we'll know what's happening, but that's not useful on its own. They'd just be shrieking at everyone, and besides someone might attack them in confusion. Attack, that's an idea. Can we make them attack the Ender Dragon?" She stopped for a moment, but then shook her head, "that won't be enough. We need something bigger than that."

Suddenly her face spread into a smile.

"Maiguh? Whats in the void?"

"The void? I have never gone down there, the mother goddess cautioned me against it."

"But you came from the void didn't you?"

Maiguh stopped and thought about it. "I think I can see what your purposing, but its risky."

"We could jump into the void and then from there find your mother." Elsbeth said. "She'd help us."

"She would," Maiguh reasoned, "I have not visited her in a very long time. She will have been expecting me."

Elsbeth seemed quite excited now. Her energy seemed to infect Maiguh making him more hopeful.

"My daughters will come too." He told her, "we will need everyone we can get to help us."

Maiguh turned around and called his daughters names, both came to his side quickly. When he explained the plan they were eager as well. Endra had not left the End many times and especially wanted to go back to the overworld.

They gathered their weapons up and when they were ready they all stood on the edge of the void. Maiguh closed his eyes and whispered quietly, "mother I am wanting to return home, will you bless this action and bring me to you?"

There wasn't an audible answer, but Maiguh sensed his mother was waiting. Endra and Dinetee dove with their wings to guide them. That left just Maiguh and Elsbeth.

"Are you ready?" Elsbeth asked him.

He had a sudden urge and so he reached over and took ahold of her hand. She looked down at their sudden connection and smiled slightly.

Together they launched themselves into the void and fell into the darkness.
