Shinso ran forward and scooped me up, holding me to him.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his eyes searching all over me.

"I'm okay."

"I can't believe...You're... ," he seemed to be at a loss for words. "You're here."

I smiled up at him before burying my face in his chest. "I'm here."

I felt him breathe a deep sigh of relief before hugging me tightly, his strong arms completely enveloping me as he rested his chin on my head.

I let myself relax, breathing in his scent, a scent I had missed.

"There's so much... " I mumbled, not even sure what I was saying. "I don't even know..."

"I don't care," Shinso said plainly. "I just want to hold you."

For the moment, it was enough to just stand still in each other's arms, neither of us talking.

It almost didn't feel real.

Dabi and Shigaraki were gone, vanished in Kurogiri's mist.

And Dabi had been the one to shove me out of the way, away from them, only minutes after threatening to murder me.

I shivered, thinking about how Shigaraki had probably reacted.

How long would it be before I saw them again? Would they be back?

I knew Shigaraki well enough to know that this wasn't the end.

"Hey," Shinso said, titling my head up toward him. "You're shaking. Let's get you out of here."

"And go where?" I asked. I realized I didn't even know where I would go after this.

My apartment... wasn't really even mine.

"Anywhere, away, just as long as you're with me."

His purple eyes were so intense, so earnest, so caring.

"Stay with me," he said.

"You really like this guy, huh?" I heard a gruff voice behind me say. "This isn't some kind of brainwashing trick?"

Keeping my arms around Shinso, I looked over my shoulder and smiled meekly, nodding my head.

Katsuki was staring off to the side, obviously irritated. Without looking at us, he said, "If you hurt her, I will destroy you, freak."

Shinso squeezed me closer to him and nodded. "Understood."

"I need to interrupt," Aizawa said. "The police are asking to speak with you, y/n."

Shinso glared at Aizawa, keeping his arms protectively around me as if he didn't want to let me go. I could feel how tense he was. I hadn't seen this angry side of Shinso before.

"They can go fuck themselves," Katsuki said, standing between us and Aizawa. "Aizawa, what the hell? You were about to sacrifice y/n for that monster?" he asked, motioning over to where the police were talking to Endeavor. "How could you say that after..."

"We'll deal with him."

"The bastard should be in jail."

"I said, we'll deal with him."

A young officer approached us. "Excuse me, miss," he said. "I need to take a statement before returning to the station."

"Right now?" I asked. "Can't this wait?"

"It's probably best to do this while everything is fresh on your mind," Shinso said, reluctantly.

"He's right. Let us take it from here," the officer said. "If you could come downstairs with us, I need to ask you a few questions, miss," he said.
