With a sigh, knowing I would probably regret it, I sent a text, asking him to meet me in the park in an hour.

The sun had just started to set, but he was easy to find.

When I sat down next to him on the bench, he leaned back and put one arm around my shoulder.

"Just two friends, hanging out," I chuckled.

"They might kiss."

"No."

"They might."

"No..." I said slowly, but firmly. "You don't get to kiss me right now. You tried to kill Shoto."

Shigaraki looked confused. "He survived, didn't he?"

"That's not the point!"

"Let's take a walk," he said, getting up from the bench. I hesitated for a moment, but he was standing there with his hand out stretched. What was I supposed to do?

Shigaraki took my hand and we walked down the path toward the pond. At the water's edge, we could faintly hear the sound of a radio in the distance.

"You know," he started to say. "you weren't supposed to see any of that. I told you to go out front and you're the one who followed me. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that you followed me," he grinned from beneath the black hood of his jacket. "You did seem to enjoy our dance that night."

"I followed you because I knew you were going to do some crazy shit."

"You like my brand of crazy. Just admit it. Want to dance again?"

Now it was my turn to be confused. "What? Like, when?"

"Right now."

"Here? You want to dance with me... here, in the park?"

He shrugged and without saying another word brought me close, one hand on my waist and the other holding my hand against him.

With the sun setting, and just the hint of a radio playing, it actually didn't seem that ridiculous, so I put my head on his shoulder and we swayed slightly.

I'm dancing in the park with the leader of the League of Villains.

I saw a couple people walking by smile at us, probably thinking we were just two regular young people on a date.

Was that what this was?

He certainly seemed to think so.

I felt his head leaning against mine.

"Every night that I don't have you," he whispered, "I need you more."

I would be lying to myself if I thought it wasn't nice to feel needed.

"Look, I have my own problems to figure out," I said. "That's why I texted you. I need help."

"Help, huh? Well, I have needs, too. Maybe we need the same thing."

"We don't."

Shigaraki huffed, as if he didn't believe me.

I'd thought about how to bring this up, but now that he was in front of me, his body literally against mine, it seemed like I should just be direct. "Everyone knows that the League is working with Overhaul."

"I wouldn't say 'with' but go on..."

"There's a friend of mine who is working for him. I need you to get him out of there. Can you, like, ask for a trade or something and have him work for the League instead?"
