Ch. 103 Special Delivery

A second knock sent both boys scrambling for clothes and then into my closet. I made sure that my closet door was shut, giggled a little at the idea of the two of them crammed in there together, and then opened my own door.

"I have a delivery. Can you please sign?"

I stared blankly at the man at my door. "Delivery?"

"Are you Miss Y/n?"

"Yes..."

"Then these are for you. Please sign here."

After he got my signature, the man picked up a vase from the floor behind him and handed it to me.

Roses, at least a dozen, their petals a deep, dark red.

Simple. Understated. Sexy.

I already knew who they were from.

I found the card perched on one of the roses.

"I know I'm a day late. I'll be back soon and I'll make it up to you then. How does dinner and then breakfast sound? –SA"

It sounded fucking perfect.

After closing the door, and hiding the card in my desk, I called out to the boys that they could come out. They both immediately saw the flowers as I placed them on my desk.

Before either could say anything, I put my hands over their mouths. "Nope, I am not taking comments at this time. And we're all going to be late if you don't get out of here," I said, ushering them out.

Not too long after that, I started the walk to school and Shinso appeared at my side.

"Want to walk together?" he asked. 

"Sure."

"I haven't seen you much these past few days."

"Yeah, it's been crazy," I said. "I've had my hands full with...everything."

My phone rang, and I hit the button to ignore the call without looking.

"Everything okay with you?" he asked. 

I nodded. "Yep."

Glancing over at Shinso, I noticed that his face looked different, like he was more tired than normal.

"What about you? Are you okay?" I asked.

"Well..."

Before he could finish that thought, my phone rang again.

"Sorry," I apologized, glancing at the phone to see who it was before silencing the sound.

My heart did a little flip when I saw the number. Shigaraki.

"Hold on a sec," I said to Shinso before answering the phone. "Hello?"

"Ditch school. I'm coming to get you."

"Oh?" I looked over at Shinso and then turned the volume down on my phone so he couldn't hear the raspy voice on the other end.

"No," I said calmly into the phone, "I don't want to buy any of that today. Thank you anyway."

"Damn I've missed your voice. And other parts of you. I'm guessing you're not alone?"

"Okay, as I said, thanks anyway. Gotta go, bye."

"Why do I even pay for this phone if you aren't going to call me?"

I hung up.

"Sorry again," I said to Shinso.
