"Shoto?"

While I am sure that I looked surprised and horrified, Shoto just looked sad.

"Y/n."

I made a move to walk toward him, but Shigaraki held my hand firmly, stopping me. "Aren't you happy?" he asked me.

This was not how this was supposed to go.

Fuck.

Did Dabi know about this?

I didn't want anyone to get hurt.

I didn't want Shoto here....

"You wanted to talk to your friends, so I brought one here. Besides, after the fun we just had in my bedroom," he said, holding me a little tighter, "I thought you would be pleased."

"Why? Why did you do this?" I asked, tears starting to form in the corners of my eyes.

"Why? Think about it," Shigaraki said, talking to me as if I was the dumbest person alive. "What could be better publicity for the League than convincing the most promising heroes to join our team? Especially two who are so close to the number one himself. We tried with the Bakugo kid, but this one.... This one is even better."

"Don't tell Bakugo that..." I said under my breath.

"What was that?"

"Nothing."

"Anyway," Shigaraki continued, "With this good looking kid, a Todoroki no less, out there speaking on our behalf – we will actually look legitimate. We couldn't ask for better PR."

To his credit, Shoto didn't seem terribly upset. Though his eyes looked pained, his body language was remarkably calm, given the circumstances.

"Shoto, what did you tell them?" I asked him. "What did you agree to?"

"Nothing," he said.

I sighed, relieved.

"I'll let you two catch up," Shigaraki said. "But...," Shigaraki squeezed my fingers tightly again. "Keep your hands to yourself, y/n," he said, giving me a look. "I can't get enough of them myself. No sharing with our little visitor here."

He left, leaving Shoto and I alone.

Fuck that, I thought.

Immediately I walked over and hugged Shoto tightly, even though he couldn't hug me back.

Shoto wasn't tied to the chair, but the quirk canceling handcuffs pretty much kept him in place.

"I'm so sorry," I said, tears now freely flowing down my cheeks. "I didn't want this. I didn't want any of this. I know you were trying to find me. I'm so sorry."

I sat in front of him on the floor.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"You're worried about me? Yeah, I'm fine. It seems like some shit is about to go down though, so I need to get you out of here. I think I know someone who can help."

"Us."

"What?"

"We need to get us out of here," Shoto corrected me.

"Uh...I don't..." I really didn't want to get in to the details here about how I didn't really even have anywhere to go back to.

"Y/n. I spoke with my father. He told me..."

Oh no.

"Shoto, I.... let me explain..."

"No."
