Ch. 96 Hot Tub!

The elevator doors opened, and Hawks decided to use that moment to put his arm around my shoulder as we walked into the common room.

"Hello, everyone, we have returned!" he announced to the room, making everyone turn around to look at us. "You can continue giving me attention now!"

My eyes couldn't roll any farther back in my head.

"You're really doing this?" I asked under my breath. "Everyone is staring."

There was no sign of Katsuki anywhere, so at least that was a small blessing.

"These kids are just too easy to tease. But you already know that," Hawks smiled, taking his arm off my shoulder.

I spotted Tamaki standing near the door. Kaminari was trying to talk to him, I think, but Tamaki looked like he wanted to either fade into the wall or run away.

"All right," Hawks said to me. "I'm off to find my little interns and hear how badly Suneater kicked their asses."

"Have fun."

Just before we parted ways, Hawks whispered in my ear, "Enjoy yourself tonight; the quiet ones are always the freakiest."

I rolled my eyes at him for the hundredth time and walked over to Tamaki, but as I passed the couch where a few people were sitting, I heard Mina's voice and it made me stop.

"Are you going on a trip?" she asked.

"A trip?" I asked, confused. 

"What's with the bag? Or... ooooooh is that an overnight bag??" she practically squealed, her fingers pointing back and forth between me and Tamaki.

"No, it's not like that," I insisted.

"Yes, girl, get it." Mina raised her hand up to high five me as I walked by. "Don't forget Hagakure!" she said.

"Oh, um, okay" I said, not sure where exactly to high five an invisible hand. I did an awkward little air high five where I guessed her hand to be and kept walking.

Tamaki looked thankful for the opportunity to end his conversation.

"Ready to go?" I asked him.

"Been ready."

"Sorry to keep you waiting. It was tough to pick out a swimsuit, so I brought two. You'll have to tell me which one you like better."

"Um..."

"Where are you guys headed?" Kaminari asked. He was still there? I could tell he thought he was acting like this was an innocent question. But I could see right through him. I had a feeling I knew who he'd be reporting back to later. 

"Secret spy business," I said. "Can't tell you."

"Aw man, why don't I get to do fun stuff like that?"

Tamaki looked confused and I realized right then how much he didn't know about me. That was a conversation that was going to have to wait until later.

"But why would you need a swimsuit?" Kaminari asked, genuinely confused.

I shook my head and we headed out.

As we left the dorm I heard Mina's voice behind us.

"Make good choices!" she yelled after us. "And text me the details!"

Tamaki turned on the hot tub, the jets starting to make bubbles under the surface of the water. He made sure the water temperature and pressure were just right before going back inside.
