When I opened my eyes, I saw that we were in an old hotel building that smelled of mold and cigarettes. Looking around, it was obvious that this place had seen better days.

"Thanks, man," he quickly told the purple mist man before pulling me through a door, down a hallway, and finally into a locked room. The room was dark too, with one lamp and no windows, but it was clean, with only a few things around the room.

"Welcome home, doll."

I stayed in the doorway, unsure what to do.

"Who was that guy?"

"You don't need his name. Give me your phone."

"Yeah, no."

"You don't get to make the rules here, little girl."

Dabi grabbed my bag off my arm, found my phone, and then promptly threw it on the ground and stomped on it.

"What the hell!" I yelled.

"Now no one can track you, so no one knows where you are, which increases your likelihood of safety."

"I don't feel very safe." I continued to stand by the door while he took off his coat and sat down on the bed.

"Safety is relative. You think you were safe before? Kid, the League was contacted by someone to kill you. You must have managed to piss off some powerful people. Lucky for you, I ended up being the one sent on the mission. When I recognized you, I saw an opportunity. But you had to go and have little Shoto show up, ruining our moment."

"You know Todoroki?"

"You should be safe here," he said ignoring my question. "Only mist man and I know you're here, so... "

"Yeah... feeling less safe by the minute. How did you find the campsite?"

"We all have our sources."

It had to have been Hawks. Had to have been.

"And why me?"

"Because you were dropped in my lap, literally. And I can't stop thinking about you."

Oh.  For just a second I almost didn't know what to say.

"So you think a good tactic with women is to kidnap them?"

He shrugged and smiled, lying back on the bed. "I believe you came with me willingly."

"Yes, because you tried to burn me to death and then threatened all of my friends."

"He said, she said. Come here," he said, patting the bed beside him.

"Uh..." I hesitated, not exactly wanting to get on the bed with him.

"Get over yourself. I want to look at your wrists. I have some experience with burns."

Fair enough.

"Fine. They're your fault anyway," I sat next to him, rolled up my sleeves, and held out my wrists.

He slowly and carefully removed the dressings, setting each one on the nightstand. I noticed a confused look on his face.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing. They're...you're fine."

"Really? Good. Honestly they haven't bothered me much today."

"No, they're totally fine, as in I don't see the burns at all. No... scars. How do you not have scars?"

His face looked almost angry.
