I was ready to murder all of them. I mean, not really, but I sort of felt like it. Shoto. Kirishima... Bakugo. They'd all been totally okay with the fact that Shinso was following my every move? No one felt like maybe I needed to be told that little bit of information?

Read a book, Hawks had suggested. Do homework. I felt like throwing the book out the window more than I felt like reading it. Last time I threw my pillow out the window it hit Denki, so maybe I'd have similar luck with a book or something.

A knock on my door interrupted this train of thought.  I opened my door fully prepared to slam it back in the face of whichever boy decided he wanted to tempt fate by talking to me right now.

But then I didn't. Because when I opened the door, angel-eyed Tamaki was the one standing in the hallway, his hands in his pockets. His head of indigo hair was slightly dipped down, his eyes nervously avoiding mine.

"Hey," I said, taking a second to try to turn down my anger. "I didn't know you were coming by tonight."

He'd dropped off my suitcase at the dorm after that night out with Hawks. We'd had a short conversation that hadn't ended particularly well. He had been mad, and rightfully so.

I watched as Tamaki took a deep breath and put one hand on my door frame, as if trying to brace himself for something both physically and mentally. But he didn't move from the hallway so I continued to stand there holding the door open.

"Want to come in?" I asked.

"Yes," he said. But he still didn't move.

"Then... okay..." I said, going back in my room and hoping he was going to follow me. "So maybe shut the door and come in?"

"I think," Tamaki said, still from the hallway. "No, I know... I know that I may have made a mistake."

"A mistake?" I asked. "I doubt that. What are you talking about? Please come in and stop hanging out in the hallway."

"I'm not good at talking," he said, letting the door close behind him as he walked straight toward me. "So..."

He held out his hand to me, but instead of his hand, long tentacles suddenly darted out and snapped around my waist, tightening quickly. With one yank by Tamaki, I stumbled forward and crashed into him. He thankfully caught me and held me tight against him.

I grabbed his arms and held on to steady myself. Pressed this close, our chests touching as we breathed together, my heart was beating in my throat.

"What was that for?" I asked, my wide eyes looking up at him.

"First I thought we.... well, I thought we had a good connection..." His voice trailed off.

"Definitely!"

"But then I wasn't sure after you just left that night with Hawks. That made me doubt what I was thinking. I doubt.... a lot."

"Tamaki, I am so sorry about that. It's really complicated. You did nothing wrong."

"I don't want to hear it."

That tone made me look at him slightly differently. "Excuse me?"

"I've thought about this all week. About you. I was in charge of you when you stayed at my house. I shouldn't waited to show you how I feel," he said, the tentacles around my waist squeezing me even tighter. In contrast, his other hand touched my face, gently pushing back some of my hair.

"Now that Bakugo told me that the two of you are not together, I'm not going to make the same mistake again."

The spell was momentarily broken as I realized what he just said. "Wait. He said what?"
