Shinso's arms were around me, keeping me from landing on the floor.

His arms.

My first thought was: he's really been working out.

My second thought was: if I could just stay in these arms...

It might have been my imagination, but as he helped me stand, it seemed like Shinso took his time removing his hands from me.

"I'm sorry, thanks," I muttered, trying not to look at him.

"Are you okay..miss...?" Shinso asked.

He doesn't recognize me.

I nodded my head. I knew what might happen if I answered any of his questions.

I couldn't do this right now, I just couldn't. If I didn't keep an eye on what they were doing with Shoto, who knows what could happen.

Against my better judgment, I let myself take one quick look at him. Even though Shinso had a mask on, I could see those purple eyes looking me over.

"Are you sure you're –" he started to say.

I did an awkward little wave and sprung up, walking away as quickly as I could toward the stairs, hoping to put as much distance between us as possible.

Once downstairs, I tried to calm myself before scanning the room, hoping to see Shoto or Shigaraki or Aizawa, cursing myself for losing focus.

Damn it. I didn't know where anyone was.

It was so much louder downstairs; the music from the band up front drowned out much of the conversations around me.

I squeezed my way toward the middle of the ballroom where people were dancing. I tried going up on my toes to look over everyone, but there was no sight of Shoto's silver-dyed hair.

There were just too many people.

"Dance with me," said the cloaked man suddenly right next to me.

I glanced over, instantly recognizing Shigaraki.

"Where's Shoto?" I asked as he walked around in front of me.

Shigaraki smiled and touched the exposed side of my face gently with the back of his gloved hand. "His part comes later."

He pulled me to him, placing one hand around my waist and cupping my hand with the other. "But right now, dance with me." He held my hand against his chest.

I raised an eyebrow. "Seriously? You dance?" I asked.

"I will with you."

Being this close might give me a good opportunity to find out what he planned on doing.

And I didn't dislike being held like this, I admitted to myself.

"Okay, then," I said.

We began to sway to the music of the band, his cloak billowing around both of us.

"You're not terrible at this," I admitted, resting my head on his shoulder.

He laughed. "You expected that I would be?"

"Honestly? Yes."

"You forget, y/n, that there are a lot of things you don't know about me."

"You're right, and the same could be said to you about me."

He leaned his head closer to mine so that I could clearly hear him. "Maybe we can change that."

I looked up at him thoughtfully.
