Chapter Twenty-Five: Mall Fight

Last night, was truly shocking after finding out that my father is alive. Later that same night, I was so angry about being lied to and I didn't dare go home because I didn't know how I'd react. Scott let me stay at his house and sleep in his bed. My wolf got super excited, once I laid on that bed and took in the scent from his pillow, I didn't want to get out of it. I began to curl up and watch Scott work at his desk. When a knock came on the door, I closed my eyes and listened.

"Come in, Mom..." Scott yelled.

I peeked one eye open and saw a soaking wet Isaac, he looked sad, "I was wondering if I could ask you a favor..."

All I could think was, 'What the hell happened?'. Scott let Isaac sleep in the chair, he started making a bed on the floor. His back was facing me, I tapped his back as he turned to look at me, I patted the bed.

He smiled and began to take his shirt off, and take his pants off leaving him in just his boxers. I turned over facing Isaac, I could feel Scott staring at my back. I felt a thumb run against my shoulder where my paw print mark is, it sent a warmth through my body. I fell asleep soon after.

-The Next Day-

Scott and I became very close, I knew he liked Allison so I tried not to fall too hard but I couldn't help how I felt. Scott wanted to talk to Derek, so we rode over to his loft. As soon as we got there, I saw Derek, Boyd, and Peter.

"I know where they are," Scott interrupted.

"Same building as the Argents. We know." Derek said.

"Cora and I followed the twins," Boyd informed.

"Then they want you to know," Scott said.

Peter shrugged, "Or, more likely, they don't care."

Scott frowned, "What is this?"

"Isn't it obvious? The schemers are scheming. Coming up with a coup de main-better known as a pre-emptive strike." Peter explained.

'The schemers are scheming', seriously. Peter is a schemer himself; his looks may fool you but he is good at what he does.

"You're going after them?" Scott asked incredulously.

Derek nodded, "Tomorrow. And you two are going to help us."

Scott looked at me hesitantly, "Uh, I think we can do it without Leia."

"The more we have, the better chance we have of destroying the Alpha pack," Derek explained.

-Later that Evening-

Scott, Isaac, and I arrived at the abandoned Mall. It was dark, the moonlight shined it, giving off the perfect amount of light. Deucalion stood above the broken escalator, "You didn't come alone."

"Yeah. This is Isaac and..." Scott was interrupted by Deucalion.

"My beautiful, strong niece, Leia. But unfortunately, I'm not talking about those two."

Scott was appalled when Derek, Cora, and Boyd appeared, "You knew I would do this?"

Derek wolfed out, "Derek, don't! You can't do this, no one gets hurt. If someone else dies..." Scott tried to reason.

Derek growled, "Him. Just him."

Deucalion smiled, "Just me? Now, how's a blind man, find his way into a place like this, all on his own?"

Aiden and Ethan walked out, shirtless and Kali stood near Deucalion. Ennis came out from the shadows they all had their claws out, eyes red, and fangs. Derek makes a move on Deucalion but Kali kicks him in the head. The twin's somersault from the upper floor and land merged. Everyone was fighting but nobody was going after me, but Deucalion stared at me. Boyd and Cora faced off Ennis who seemed to easily avoid the blows but they managed to get some good hits.

Isaac tried to take on the merged twins and was easily tossed to the side. Scott went to help and Scott was thrown into the concrete wall. I took a step and Deucalion put his finger up, "Ah, ah, ah." He had a grin from ear to ear, as if he had me right where he wanted me.

Derek briefly got the upper hand with Kali, twisting her arm and delivering an elbow to her face. Cora continued fighting Ennis but he twisted her around and broke her arm. Isaac and Scott fought the merged twins, Isaac's leg was kicked and Scott received a nasty scratch on his torso.

Through it all, Deucalion stood serenely on the broken escalator listening to them fight. Ennis held Boyd while Kali delivered a roundhouse kick, clawing deeply into Boyd's chest. Boyd is on the ground, Kali has her foot on Cora's neck. Scott and Isaac are on their knees.

"Kill him. The others can go." Deucalion said referring to Boyd. "You're beaten. Do it, Derek. Take the first step."

Kali scoffed, "Are we serious with this kid? Look at him!" she looked Derek up and down. "He's an Alpha? To what? A couple of useless teenagers?"

"Some have more promise than others..."

Kali smiled as she looked down at Cora, I knew what she was thinking before she even said it. "Let him rise to the occasion, then! What'll it be, Derek? Pack or family?" she pressed her foot harder against Cora's throat.

Derek stood there looking between Cora and Boyd. An arrow flies over Derek's head and strikes the merged twins who immediately separate. Allison? Allison continued firing flash-bang arrows, giving Scott and Derek time.

Scott regains his footing and aims at Ennis. The two hit each other with equal force and merely slide away from each other. We all notice Scott's eyes are red; Alpha red when he looks up. He shakes his head Ana's they return to their common yellow color. Derek attacks Ennis from behind, as the two struggle they end up closer and closer to the ledge over a three-floor drop. Scott and I jumped forward to help, Scott slashed Ennis' leg. Ennis spun and began to fall over the ledge pulling Derek with him. I went to grab Derek's hand, I... I was so close but the next thing I knew Derek was... gone.

"Derek!" I screamed as I saw him stare at me and fall two stories. I just lost the first person I've ever met and cared about in Beacon Hills. A tear fell down my face, Scott placed his hand on my back and let out a whimper. I wiped the tear from my cheek and helped Scott up, he was bleeding badly from the Alpha scratch. So, I took him to my house.
