Our school sport is lacrosse, and Scott and Stiles are on the team. I thought I would go and watch them. Then mom thought it would be a good idea that we all go. Uncle Mark and Aunt Greta sat by each other, mom sat next to Melissa. They began to strike up a conversation when a boy came over with a camera. He started taking pictures.

“You the yearbook photographer?” Melissa asked.

“No. I, uh, just take photos,” he replied.

My mom asked, “Just lacrosse, or other things?”

“Whatever catches my eye.”

After awhile in the game, I saw Stiles take off. I nudged Sam, “Want to go check it out?”

“Anything to get away from this lacrosse game.”

We took off before mom could ask where we were headed. The two of us followed Stiles into the school, near the pool room. We heard voices, familiar ones, and then shouting and a splash. When we peeked through the square glass window we saw a four-legged lizard with scales and slitted yellow eyes with sharp teeth.

Both of us shifted and jumped through the glass window. The creature backed up. Then, in comes my mother, aunt Greta, and uncle Mark. They shift, we all start to reveal our abilities.

Static electricity begins to swirl around Sam, and water from inside the swimming pool begins to rise like a tidal wave. The lights begin to flicker from my mother, my uncle's teeth grow twice as big and he becomes rabid, and my aunt disappears. As claw marks begin to appear on the lizard.

Seconds later, a roar was heard from the other end of the pool. Scott stood on the diving board and let out a huge roar. The creature made its way towards Scott, I went to help him when I felt several pairs of hands pull me back. Scott was thrown against the mirror, shattering it to pieces. Sam and I quickly helped Stiles and Derek out of the eight feet of water.

When we looked back the lizard was gone, and Scott was holding up a shard of glass. Stiles and Derek looked at me and my family. I wish dad was here, he would know what to do. All I did at that moment was run out of the building, crying. I hate being different and knowing that my friends saw what my family and I are capable of, they'll never want to be around me. I wish I could disappear, disappear for good now.
