-Beacon Hills High School-

Theo and Tracy are tracking the Beast. "Did you see it?" Tracy asked, referring to the Beast.

Theo shook his head. "It was too fast."

"But it's here?"

"Yeah. So keep your distance. Look, we're not trying to catch it. Not yet."

An unbelievable growl came from in the school. Theo and Tracy walked through the entrance, when they rounded the corner Theo flashed his golden eyes. The Dread Doctors have left the Beast a message. 'DAMNATIO MEMORIAE'

"It's the same message, isn't it? What are they trying to tell it?" Tracy asked.

Theo's eyes returned to their normal brown. "They're trying to get it to remember who it was."

Tracy was confused. "But isn't it just a teenager like us? Isn't it just a kid underneath?"

Theo sighed. "Yeah, they don't care about that. The Doctors, needed a body because they couldn't resurrect the Beast out of thin air. That kid underneath, whoever it is, is just a side-effect. All the Doctors care about is the Beast."

"So, what happens if it does remember?"

"I'm not sure... The thing probably doesn't even know it turns back to human during the day."

"I read that the Beast of Gevaudan killed 113 people. Is that true?" Tracy asked.

Theo smirked. "No. The Doctors told me it was closer to 500."

A door at the end of the hallway opened and then closed. Tracy flicked her claws as Theo and she walked down a little further. The Dread Doctors stood there. Tracy went to slash the Pathologist across the fast but her claw went right through him. He backhanded her so hard, she flew into the lockers and bounced onto the floor.

The Dread Doctors looked at Theo. "Leave." The Surgeon ordered.

Theo stood his ground. "Where is it?"

"You already have your pack."

"It wasn't enough. Look at my eyes." Theo angrily said. He flashed his golden eyes. "Do they look red to you? I'm not an Alpha. I'm not even a real werewolf!"

Just then, heavy footsteps were coming from behind the Dread Doctors. The ground started shaking as a massive creature came around the corner, clutching a severed head on a man in its hand.

As the Beast got closer, he rolled the severed head at Theo's feet. Tracy gasped at the sight of the Beast and severed head. The Beast let out a roar so loud that Theo and Tracy fell to their knees, covering their ears with their hands and closing their eyes tightly. When they opened their eyes, the Dread Doctors and the Beast were gone.

-Shiprock, New Mexico-

Kira found herself in a teepee with one of the Skinwalkers tending to her wound. She put a damp cloth made of animal skin over her shoulder. "This will speed the healing."

"You could've just not thrown a spear into me." Kira sarcastically said.

"You had a sword. You could have used it." She said sternly.

Kira looked embarrassed. "I thought I did..."

"You were afraid to use the sword. I showed you I wasn't afraid to use the spear."

Kira sat there as her mother walked in with a depressed look. Noshiko nodded politely at the Skinwalker, who stared at her and grabbed her spear as she let them talk in private.

"What happens now?" Kira asked her mother.

"They're going to test you. Tonight." Noshiko said grimly. "It's not going to be easy."

"Have they mentioned anything about fixing me?"

"They have their methods. It takes time."

"How much time? Days?"

Noshiko turned to Kira and knelt in front of her. She let out a sigh. "Months... Or years..."

Kira was appalled. "Are you kidding me?"

"Don't think I take this lightly, Kira." She scowled.

"Mom, years?"

"You're a Kitsune. You have centuries."

"What about my friends? What about Scott?"

"If this part of you becomes too powerful, it will consume you. Do you understand what that means? You won't even exist anymore." Noshiko explained.

Kira is in tears. "So this is it? This is all I've got? I pass their test, and then I can spend a couple months– or, if I'm really lucky, years– learning from a couple of crazy, half-naked women carrying spears and wearing animal pelts?"

"You carry a sword and you wear a leather jacket. We're not so different from them." Noshiko said amused.

"What if they can't help me? Do I really become one of them?"

"If you become a Skinwalker and stay with them, it could keep you alive. It could be the only thing that saves you."

"All the stories about Skinwalkers... they say they're evil," Kira said glumly.

Noshiko smiled a little. "They say the same thing about Kitsune's."
