I brought Scott up to my room and laid him gently on my bed. I rushed into my bathroom, grabbing the first aid kit I kept in there in case I got injured; I would patch myself up and hide it from my family. Scott started to moan in pain, I quickly covered his mouth. Of course, I'm old enough to have a boy in my room but I didn't tell anyone he was here.
I lifted Scott's shirt, and my god, it was all blood with four deep gashes. I grabbed the peroxide, and a piece of gauze and began cleaning up his wound. Every time he winced in pain all I could do was apologize. A wastebasket full of bloody gauze, and an hour later his wounds were clean. Before I could help him stand up, Scott was looking at the doorway. I turned and saw my father staring at us in amazement.
"Wait here," I whispered to Scott.
I walked over to my dad, "What do you want, Dad?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"I–I wanted to say I'm sorry for not uhm, telling you I was in town. I talked to your mom and I promise you I'm not going anywhere." he continued to stare back and forth between Scott and me.
"Okay. I forgive you but why are you staring?"
"You remind me so much of your mother and me. Every time I was hurt, your mother would do exactly what you're doing. The only reason why she did it was because she cared for me and later fell in love with me. Leia... what are your feelings for Scott?" he asked staring into my eyes.

"Honestly, I don't know. I care for him, but he's in love with someone else and I can't risk a friendship over my feelings." I said looking up at him.

My dad held my hand, I felt protected and safe. He said to me sweetly, "You can't let someone come in between someone you love. Believe it or not, I was in a similar situation as you."

I nodded, as I saw mother lean against the door. Dad gently turned my head towards him as we looked eye to eye.
"You can mend a friendship but you can't mend a broken heart. Besides, it's only one friend it's not like you lose everyone. Also, I can tell just by looking at Scott that he isn't leaving you anytime soon."
"Well, duh, he's hurt."
He chuckled, "Well that's not what I meant but that too. Get some sleep." he kissed the top of my head and walked out of the room, leaving Scott and me alone. I re-changed Scott's bandages and let him lay in bed with me, it's not the first time we've laid together. But when I woke the next morning, Scott was gone.
