I went home, ran into the house, and yelled out for Sam. Sam came out from the kitchen, "What's wrong?"
"We have a very big problem. An Alpha problem."
He furrowed his eyebrows, knowing about the two twins from school. "I just found out there is a pack of Alphas in town."
He leaned against the wall, "What? Two isn't enough?"
"Sam this is serious!"
"What do you want me to do? I just found out that, that psychopath Peter was resurrected by your redheaded girlfriend," he said pointing at me.
"Wha—what do I want you to do, seriously? I want you to be the Alpha your meant to be!" I yelled.
He shook his head, "Leia, I'm not the Alpha."
"What are you talking about? It goes from father to son." I asked curiously.
Sam took off his shirt, "Do you see the paw print on me?" as I looked around his shoulder blades and back.
He pulled me over to the mirror and tugged my shirt down, there was an indent of a paw print in my skin.
I can't believe I've never noticed that before. "What does this mean?" I asked confused.
He grabbed my face, "You're the Alpha. That's why the family is way more protective of you. And how you're able to calm uncle down with a touch. We'd have to fight him. It usually goes from father to son, but this time it went from father to daughter. Dad decided to break the rules and pass it to you."
I started to tear up, "I don't want it."
"You may not want it now, but you will later," he said pulling me into his chest. As I took in the musky smell of my brother.
-The Next Day-
Scott wanted Lydia, Allison, and I to meet him at the school. When we arrived, Derek, Scott, and Stiles were waiting inside the classroom. I sat on top of a desk while Lydia and Allison held their wrist out, "I don't see anything." Derek said skeptically.
"Look again," Scott said.
Derek crossed his arms, "How is a bruise going to tell me where Boyd and Erica are?"
"It's the same on both sides! The same."
"It's nothing." Derek got louder.
Lydia said, "Pareidolia."
I turned my head towards her, "Seeing patterns that aren't there?" she added.
I interrupted, "It's a subset of apophenia."
They looked at me, I shrugged my shoulders, "What? I may have lived in the woods my whole life but I know some things."
Scott sighed, turning to Derek, "They're trying to help."
Derek asked incredulously, "These two?" he pointed to Allison and Lydia.
"This one, who used me to resurrect my psychotic uncle—" pointing towards Lydia. "Thank you," he sarcastically said.
"And this one, who shot about thirty arrows into me and my pack?" pointing to Allison.
I was shocked when I heard about that. I knew nothing about Allison shooting Derek and his pack.
Stiles sighed, "Okay, all right, now, come on... No one died, all right?"
"Yet," I added as they all turned to me.
Stiles continued, "Look, there may have been a little maiming, okay? A little mangling, but not death! And that's what I call an important distinction."
Allison quietly said, "My mother died."
Derek scoffed, "Your family's little honor code killed your mother, not me."
"That girl was looking for Scott. I'm here to help him, not you." Allison said angrily.
"You want to help? Find something real." Derek said sternly.
Lydia and Allison left the room, leaving Stiles, Scott, Derek, and I in there. I had no idea what happened with Allison's mother but what did it have to do with Derek?
"Derek... give her a chance. Okay? They're on our side now." Scott asked.
"Well, then maybe you should tell her what her mother was trying to do that night."
"What are you guys talking about?" I asked.
"N—nothing Leia," Scott said.
I went to leave the room when Stiles spoke up, "Hey, Leia what's that on your shoulder?"
I quickly pulled my sweater up, "Just a tattoo. Nothing important." then I left.
Should I tell the boys that I just found out that I'm an Alpha? Or should I keep this from them for now? I don't know what to do because I honestly don't want to be a leader, an Alpha, or whatever. I want to be Leia, just Leia.
