Chapter Eighty-Two: A Promise To The Dead Part Five

~Lacrosse Field~

Liam is on the field and has the ball. He is running with it, but Brett knocks him down. I stood up immediately, he knocked him down hard. "What the hell did you do that for?" Liam asked angrily.

"Because you're afraid. I can smell it on you from across the field." Brett looked over at me as I sat down slowly, "And I'm sure she can too." Liam looked over and saw me with the stroller, he smiled and turned back to Brett with a frown. "Are you hurt?" He asked.

"No."

"Are you still alive?" He sarcastically asked.

"Obviously."

"Then get up."

The referee came over to check on Liam, "You good to play?" He asked. Liam nodded, the referee turned to Brett. "You planning on doing something like that again?"

Brett smirked, "Only if I have to." He said looking down at Liam before helping him up.

I looked at Allie and Devana, and I noticed their lips were puffed out. I lifted Allie's top lip and saw two canine fangs coming in, I quickly checked Devana's, and hers were a lot sharper. So, I decided to feed them. Maybe this was their sign that they were hungry. I grabbed the diaper bag and pushed the girls back to the car. I put them in their car seats and buckled them in, once I put their stroller away I sat between the two of them. I opened the box that had the rabbit meat sliced up. At first, I didn't want to feed them it but I didn't have anything else on me. So, I picked a piece up and gave it to Allie, she seemed to like it. I gave a piece to Devana, by the time I gave her the piece of meat, Allie was still chewing on her first piece. When I finally gave Allie her second, Devana had already eaten three pieces.

Their claws and fangs retracted about an hour later. After eating the entire rabbit between the two, they fell asleep. I climbed in the front seat and started the car when I heard a conversation nearby.

"I told you not to come here."

"If you want to have a clandestine meeting, you need to choose a clandestine location."

"After what happened between you and Meredith, I'm pretty sure I can do without any kind of one-on-one father time."

I opened my eyes when I realized it was Malia and Peter. There was no way I could leave the girls in the car. Even though I'm sure they could take care of themselves even at a young age but instead I've decided to just focus again.

"How about mother-daughter time? That's right. I've found our Desert Wolf."

"Is she definitely my mother?"

"Yes. But if you want to find her, you're going to have to do something for me— something that's come naturally to you for a long time."

"Do you always have to get something in return?"

"When it's something I cant do on my own? Yes."

"What do you want?"

"I want you to kill Kate Argent."

I opened my eyes, gasping at his request. If Malia does this and Chris finds out who knows how he would react. I glance in the rearview mirror and said, "I'm going to find your dad, I promise girls. I'll bring him home." I promised them.

~Boys Locker Room~

Brett finds Liam in the locker room, "You okay?" He asked leaning on the lockers.
