Chapter One-Hundred-Forty: Damnatio Memoriae

-Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital-

Stilinski is recovering after they found a piece of bone marrow from Noah lodged inside his chest. Stiles is out in the hallway, buying a snack when two nurses wheel in a gurney with a full body bag into the morgue. He rushes back into his dad's room and pulls out his dad's laptop. 

Stilinski notices Stiles has his laptop. "Is that my laptop?" he asked curiously.

Stiles isn't really paying attention. "Yup."

"Do you have my passwords?"

Stiles rolled his eyes. "I have all your passwords. You know they just brought in another body from last night?"

Stilinski sighed. "Yeah, I was hoping you wouldn't find out. Now, give me my damn computer!" He reaches to grab the laptop from Stiles' lap, but he is in too much pain to fight.

"Hang on, hang on..." Stiles clicks on a video. "I think there's some footage missing... Or something missing in the footage."

Stilinski looked at him annoyed. "I think something is missing in your head–"

Stiles ignored him and continued to type on the laptop. "You need your rest." As he turned away from his dad and continued viewing the footage.

-On the Road-

Deputy Clark and Hayden were headed to Cypress Lane to check on the technician who was sent there an hour ago.

"You disappeared for three days! I'm keeping an eye on you for the rest of your natural-born life." 

"I told you I was with Liam..." Hayden said, but her sister rolled her eyes.

"Which doesn't improve your argument! Maybe you think you can do your own thing now. I don't care– you still need me. We look out for each other, remember?"

Hayden looks out the window, unable to look at her sister.

"For all I know, you could have been dead." Clark pulls up to the telecom station. "Stay here."

She pulls out her flashlight and slowly makes her way towards the entrance. Hayden closes her eyes and uses her Chimera hearing to listen to what is happening inside. Clark slowly walks down the metal staircase with her gun in her right hand, and her flashlight in the other hand. 

"Hello? Beacon County Sheriff's Department! Hello?" She called out.

While Hayden was in the car and listening she heard something beg for help from inside. She got out of the car and went to head inside when she sensed someone behind her. She spun around, swinging her fist. Liam ducked so he didn't get hit. 

"Liam!"  Hayden yelled as she looked behind him. "Allie?"

"Sorry!"

"What are you two doing here?"

"I sent you, like, a hundred texts..."

"I saw..."

"You saw? That's it?" 

Hayden looked at the ground. Liam was clearly upset. "How could you not tell me that you're alive?"

"Maybe because you left me for dead?"

Liam was confused. "...You... You were dead."

"Liam, you need to go."

-In the Building-

Clark hears a man gasping for breath. "Here..." 

She shines her light over towards the sound and finds the technician lying on the floor in a puddle of blood. He looked like he had been mauled by a pack of wolves. 

"Still... here..." He said before he finally died in front of her. Clark looked off towards the back of the room and saw a large claw appear over a wide pipe. It squeezed it, puncturing holes into the pipe, and releasing strong gusts of steam into the air. 

As the Beast stands to its full height and growls, Clark runs towards the stairs as fast as she can. 

-Outside-

Liam, Allie, and Hayden heard the Beast roar. Allie couldn't take her eyes off the Beast. "Run!"

The three of them ran as the Beast chased after them. They came upon a deep ravine. As the Beast came closer there was only one thing to do.

"Jump," Hayden said.

Liam looked at Hayden as if she was insane. "Are you kidding?"

"We can make it!" Hayden grabs him by the hand. They go to get a running start and they use their ability to leap across. Hayden makes it all the way.

"See? I told you!" Hayden said, smiling. She turns around to see Liam hanging on the ledge with his arms. Hayden reaches over to help him up, but suddenly the Beast leaped over the ravine. 

Allie jumped in front of Hayden and Liam in wolf form. 

"Allie..." Liam mumbled. 

Hayden went to help Allie but Liam distracted her by questioning her.

"Do you trust me?"

"What? No!"

He pulls Hayden down into the ravine with him. The last thing he saw was Allie and the Beast jumping at each other. 

-A Few Moments Later-

Liam is lying flat on his back as Hayden slaps his face. "What are you doing?"

"Making sure you're alive."

Liam tried to sit up but laid back down in pain. "Oh, I can't move my legs." He tried again but groaned in pain. "Argh, I think my back's broken."

"Will it heal?" Hayden asked concerned.

"Eventually... I think..."

Hayden stood to her feet. "Good." She turns to leave.

"Whoa! Where are you going?"

"To find my sister and make sure she's okay."

"You're just going to leave me here?" 

Hayden scoffed. "You pulled me off a cliff! I'm lucky I healed."

"I saved your life," Liam said, frustrated.

"This time."

"Who saved it last time?" 

Hayden stopped and turned. "Theo." 

Liam lay there paralyzed as he thought of Theo bringing back Hayden. Then he remembered Allie. "Oh God, Allie."

He called out for Allie but heard nothing. "Allie... Please, please answer me."

"I'm right here. You're not gonna lose me that easy." Allie said, limping up to Liam. She has blood leaking down her left leg from the Beast clawing at her. She grabbed Liam's arm. "Sorry, but I need to trigger your healing process."

She snapped his wrist as he let out a painful scream. He was able to move his legs and stand. "We need to get you to the hospital."

"Just take me to my dad's house." 

Liam nodded as he started helping Allie to Scott's house
