We approached the man at the desk. "Please empty your pockets into the container." He handed us a empty container.
"We're here to see–" Scott spoke.
"Please empty your pockets into the container." The man repeated more sternly.
Everyone started to empty there pockets. "Please remove your belt and place it into the container."
Kira looked down at her belt. "...I kind of need the belt. I mean, it's crucial to the outfit."
The man looked up at her with a straight face. "Please remove your belt, which patients will attempt to take from you and use to strangle either themselves or others."
"Right. Got it."
A man in a white coat came out. "You must be Deaton's friends. Follow..." he stopped when his eyes landed on me.
"Follow me," He smiled. As we all followed him he spoke. "I'll remind you that I'm only doing this as a favor to Deaton, and I'm doing it against my better judgement." he said unlocking a door.
"Hey, what's the etiquette for talking to this guy? I mean, do you ever look at the other eye?" Stiles asked curiously.
The man in the white coat known as Dr. Fenris replied. "I wouldn't. In fact, while you're down here, try not to make eye contact with anyone or anything."
Once we finally reached the threshold to get to Valack. Lydia and Stiles passed through without a problem. Then when Scott and Kira went to they were pushed back.
"You didn't think you were all going, did you?" Fenris asked with a smirk.
Scott looked up at Dr. Fenris. "It's mountain ash, isn't it?"
"Everywhere, but heavily concentrated down here. Valack's cell is the last one at the end of the hall."
Scott nodded for Stiles and Lydia to go on. "We'll be right here."
Kira, Scott, Devana, Allie, and I stayed behind. I had to watch Devana to make sure her temperature didn't rise. I don't know if I should tell her that she is going through heat. Maybe because I don't want to believe it.
