CAPTAIN
I can't believe it's been five years after Dennise made me her boyfriend. Maraming away, bati, tampuhan. Maraming first times, out of town, out of the country, adventures, facing fears ang nagdaan. But one thing wouldn't change is my love for her. Everyday I fall even more, I love even more. There is always a reason why I am still into her..like this one.
"Hi, Tatay!" I instantly plastered a smile when I saw Dennise waving her hand at me while she carries Bum. "How's work?" she asks and then reached for my bag to place it on the side.
I rest my body first at the sofa. I grabbed her to sit on my lap. My arms were encircled around her. I can smell the scent of lavander in her neck. "Tired? You want coffee? Tea? Or...me?"
"Ikaw nalang. Let's go upstairs." I whispered. She then laughs contagiously.
"You're a certified flirt. Ano nga?" she asks after finishing her laugh. I didn't answer. I just close my eyes for few more seconds, hugging her even more. "Huy."
"Sige, coffee nalang." I answered then let go of her to get Bum and Bebu. The dogs are resting on my chest and stomach. Missed them.
"Mahal, nagkita pala kayo ni Ynel ulit? Kamusta na raw siya?"
I think she already saw Frank's post. Co-pilot ko kasi siya and we both saw Ynel so I nodded, "Ynel's doing okay. I was surprised when I found out she's one of our passengers. So I got the chance to meet her at a very short time."
"That's so nice," she said, walking towards my place while holding a cup of coffee and handed it to me. I mouthed thank you.
"Sayang nga, hindi kami ganun nakapag-usap. She has no plans going home yet ang sabi niya."
Dennise get Bebu at my chest and placed the dog on her side, "Kaya nga. Close talaga kayo with each other 'no?"
"Selos ka ba?" I asked. Dennise rolled her eyes and slap my face slightly. "Of course not! Kasi, I've seen your facebook memories before. 'Di ba nagshe-share ka ng mga ganun sa feed mo! Naalala ko lang."
"Ay, ganun ba? Okay sorry. Pero yeah, she's one of the boys before. Me, Frank, Anton, Ynel, and Aries." I started. Dennise moves a little bit closer to me, resting her head on my shoulders.
"Sobrang close niyo palang lima. So, ni minsan ba walang nanligaw sa kaniya? I mean, sa inyong apat?"
"Anton tried. Aries tried. Frank? Never." I answered and took a sip on my coffee.
"How 'bout you? Have you tried courting her? Did you like her?"
I automatically look at her in disbelief. She just stares at me and didn't take back her questions, "Are you serious? You're asking me that questions?"
"Why?!" she protested, "I am just asking, Joaquin. Is there anything wrong with that? I just wanna know, okay?"
"I didn't. Kaso itong sina Aries, pinapalabas nilang niligawan ko si Ynel but the truth is not. I liked her before. I just don't want her to be my girlfriend that time." I replied. Dennise nods her head multiple times.
