CAPTAIN
Damn. I'm engaged. We're engaged. I'm going to be a husband soon. I cannot deny the fact that I am grateful for all the hardships I've been through. Because if not because of that, I will not be here. Surreal.
I decided to send Dennise home after the mini celebration we had earlier. She needs to be alone'daw' muna para mag-sink in ang lahat ng nangyari. Napag-isip ko rin na kinakailangan ko ring magpaka-alone muna, kaya heto ako ngayon. Smiling like an idiot.
Soon to be my wife...
I also am grateful to have friends with me that helped me all through out the proposal. It's the wives' idea and not mine, nor the boys. Deb also insisted to find us a wedding planner and organizer.
Maybe the wedding will be a month or two. We are not in a hurry. Para sa aming dalawa, mahalaga ang bawat araw na dumadaan.
Calling Mahal..
"Hey.." I greeted. I distant my phone a bit when I heard her squealed. "Daaang! You're my fiancé now!" she stated.
"Yep. You are my fiancé now, baby. Believe it or not, believe it or not."
She breathes heavily, "I'm emotional...oh my God, Joaquin.."she said. I chortle. She's acting adorable but then I became alarmed when a sudden sniff was heard on the other line.
"Hey, what's wrong? You're making me cry as well.." I told her.
"Nothing. I just realized that– that, no one would walk me to the...altar. My parents will never see me marry you. They'll not see me get married.." she snuffles. I felt a pang on my chest after that.
"Mahal...you know, I can't say that's okay. But I'm sure they'll be happy to see you in that situation. They are proud of what you do, and they are even more proud of you."
"Thank you. I needed that. So...are you happy?" she asks.
Am I happy? Of course I am.
"Oo naman. Ikaw? Sigurado ka na bang pakakasalan mo na ako? Hindi na ba magbabago ang isip mo?" I joked.
I don't know what she looks like now while we talk but the important thing is—this. I can freely ask the things that bothers me.
"Yes, I am. I am ready to spend my mornings, afternoons, nights with you. I'm ready to iron you clothes. Prepare you breakfast until dinner. I am always ready to come home to you."
In what she says, I tell myself more and more that I am sure of her. She is going to be my wife.
"Then, we will be having 12 kids."
"Loko. That's...tiring. I just want one or two? Huwag mo naman akong pahirapan. Napakadami niyan. Kaya nang bumuo ng dalawang basketball team." she replied, cackling.
"Ayaw mo 'nun? Ako yung coach ng isa, tapos ikaw naman sa isa."
"No need. Talo ka na agad."
