CAPTAIN
As of the moment bumubuti naman na ang lagay niya.
"Ang tagal naman," I heard her spoke. I turned around and saw her coming towards me. She asked me to make salad for her dahil gusto niya maging healthy living na raw. Good idea naman.
"Here." sabi ko sabay abot ng bowl of salad that I made for you. She reached for it tapos bumalik na sa sala without saying thank you. "You're welcome!" I shouted sarcastically.
I was surprised when I noticed her coming back laughing, "I'm sorry I forgooot!" and then gave me a kiss on my lips. I frowned at her.
"Talaga naman." I said shaking my head.
"Thank you! Love you! Pakiss isa pa dali."she then leaned forward to kiss me again.
"By the way, mahal. Ynel's sending you warm get well soon messages. You know? About last time."
She nods, "Oh really? Tell her I said thanks." and took a bite to her food. As usual, panonoorin ko lang siya. "By the way, mahal, do you remember the last time I told you I want to go to Quezon?"
"To your resort. Yes, I do."
"I already told Cynthia that we will go there this week." she said. My eyes enlarged, looking at her in disbelief.
"Dennise, what? You're still resting, mahal. Sorry but we can't go."
"But we can sama the barkada and their children if you want? Joaquin naman, I am missing the beach already. And I do miss my family there. Baka nagtatampo na nga sila duon dahil hindi na ako nakakabisita sa kanila. Do I have to say please pa before you make payag?" she pouts and started hugging me sideways.
"Dinadaan mo ako sa ganiyan mo, Grace. You think it will work? It's a big no."
She stood up. "Bakit ba ayaw mo?! Pwes kung ayaw mo, mag-isa akong pupunta. Tingin mo ba hindi ko kaya ang sarili ko? Alam mo, nakakainis ka." She was about to leave when I held her wrist pulling her to sit on my lap.
I heaved a sigh, "Iniingatan lang kita. Kayo ng anak natin. Normal lang naman siguro mag-alala 'di ba? Mahal, Quezon 'yun. Medyo malayo. Ayokong mapagod ka nang husto."
"Kaya kong mag-travel papunta hanggang pauwi before. Ngayon mo pa ba ako—"
"But that was before. Wala ka pang asawa, wala ka pang magiging anak. You can do whatever you want to do. E ngayon?"
We shared a minimum time of silence before she turned, "Okay there's no point arguing over this. Let's not go."
"Let's go." I murmured. She looked at meeting her two eyebrows. "Pupunta na tayo."
