DOCTOR
Friday. It's been four days na hindi ko nakikita o nahahawakan man lang si Joaquin. I miss him na although nagkaka-usap naman kami sa call. Pero iba pa rin naman kasi talaga kapag nakakasama mo yung tao. Sabi niya, sunday pa siya totally makakabalik.
Ayoko naman na guluhin siya because I know he's tired and needs rest. Haaay, iba talaga kapag parehas kayong may profession. Workaholic mode as always.
Nga pala, it's my birthday today. And nope, no celebration. I cancelled the samgyupsal night because Basti moved the party. Instead of Saturday, now nalang daw. And he'll be here in a few minutes.
....speaking of, I heard three doorbells. I immediately took my bag and wore my stilettos then walked towards the gate. I saw Basti waved at me.
"Happy Birthday." he greets and kiss my cheeks. I feel a little bit awkward so I distance myself at him a little.
"Thank you." he then assists me to enter his car. Silence occurs between us. I don't wanna start a conversation for I am not interested.
Few hours and we are at the venue. I didn't expect the venue to be this big. Akala ko mini party, buti nalang nag-ayos ako nang bongga kasi kung hindi magmumukha akong umattend ng PTA. Kaloka.
"Oh my gosh! Is that you, Dennise Reyes? Yung laging muse ng school dati, laging champion ng Science Quiz Bee, at member ng SSG before but sadly natalo ko?" Woman with chestnut hair, medium height, fair complexion, and has long eyelashes just asked me.
My brows furrowed. Of course, I remember her. Ang atribidang babaeng ito. Kapag nakikita ko siya, hindi ko maiwasang mainis. But I have to calm myself. Birthday ko, birthday ko, birthday ko.
"I'm Nikki! Yung kalaban mo palagi sa Science Quiz Bee?!"
Anong kalaban? Eh, bali-balita, nag-cheat nga 'yan on the spot kaya siya ang nanalo. Tigilan niya nga ako. Arogante pa rin talaga siya!
"Yeah, I recognize you. Nice to see you again." sagot ko.
"I bet you're now a Mrs? Ilan na kids mo?"
I can't help but raised a brow at her, "Not a Mrs, but a Dra. No kids."
She tap my shoulders and let out a laugh, "Really ba? Doktora ka na pala niyan? Hindi halata, ah. Mukha ka kasing may anak at asawa na. Anyways, Ako naman, I'm engaged na with my American boyfriend. One month pa lang akong engaged. And I have two kids. My eldest is five years old and my youngest is four."
See?! Siya pala tong may anak at asawa na idadamay pa ako. Impakta!
"I didn't ask. Excuse me." She threw a sharp look at me but I didn't bother to make patol pa at her.

I can see familiar faces in here. Some are mt former classmates and friends. Yung iba naman, suitors ko before. Ka-dyahe naman dito kaya I quickly went to Basti.
