'Di naman nga siya ganun kalayo from my clinic. Mga twenty-five minutes lang tinagal ng pagmamaneho niya. Sa katunayan, medyo ang awkward ng atmosphere naming dalawa kasi...bakit ba pumayagako? Anyways, kasama niya yung alagang aso na si Bebu base sa pagkakarinig ko ng name. Cute yung aso. Malambing at hindi agressive.
"Doc, wait ha. I'll get Bebu lang inside." he informed. I just nod my head and awkwardly smiled at him. He then opens the back door of the car and takes Bebu in his hand.
After getting the dog, he signaled to me to go inside. Ovbiously, this cafe is for dog lovers like him. We are welcomed by the warm greetings of their staffs. And then, they first asked Joaquin if he's okay to pay just to be with Bebu here. I'm not sure but I think they have a protocol that they can't bring other dogs inside — unless the owner is willing to pay for fee. And knowing him, he has a lot of money. So he paid.
"Kain muna tayo, Doc."
Hindi ko talaga kaya. Ang awkward! And the fact that the timing is really really great because kakabukas lang pala nito when we arrived. We are the first customer. Take note, the staffs kept looking at us and smiling like an idiot.
Joaquin called one of the staffs to get the menu. He approached immediately and reached for the list.
"I'll have this burger nalang..This—Martha Burger? Yes, this one. and a Vanilla Frappe. How 'bout you, Dokie?"
I look at him first and then to the menu. "Uhm..I'll have the Ella Pesto and a Caffé Mocha. Thank you."
After the staff left, I did not bother to talk anymore. I picked up my phone and pretended to be checking on social media while he holds Bebu. But later on, they will take Bebu to play in their Dog Zone. We will also go there when we are done eating.
"Ay, ang busy naman. Inii-stalk mo na ang timeline ko sa facebook 'no?"
I rolled my eyes, "Kapal."
Well, yes. I confirmed him na on facebook. We are now friends. Sana naman masaya na siya. Sana naman matahimik na ang buhay niya 'no? Pagkatapos talaga nito, hinding hindi na ako makikipag-usap sa kaniya.
"Suuus!" he chortled. "Thanks, Doc, ah. Friends na tayo sa facebook."
