It was like their typical Wednesday lunch meet-up.

"So y'all trying to come to this party with me?" Sarah asked the women as they ate.

"Girl you know I am." Kesha said.

"I bet." Sarah rolled her eyes.

"Yes boo!" Tatiana smiled taking a drink.

"Wait doesn't that mean?" Kesha asked catching Sarah's attitude that clearly everyone else had overlooked.

"Yeah, you guys can count me out." Joy said taking a bite of her food and interrupting them.

"Don't be a party pooper." Sarah whined as she ignored the question.

"Girl I don't know. I be tired and I'm not tryna party." Joy complained. 

Two weeks had passed since she found out she was pregnant. Her doctor's appointment went well outside of Kesha, Dean, and Greg showing up. As much as she hated them for pushing her to keep the baby she loved it. Joy always dreamed of being a mother but the circumstances were the only thing bothering her. How could she bring a child into this world and not even know its dads name?

She shook her head.

"We're going cause she needs to get out." Kesha answered for her.

"Yea J come. It will be fun. I feel like I barely see you." Tatiana pleaded.

Joy knew they both were right. She had been missing their brunches and shopping trips a lot lately. First, it was finals, then she was getting ready for graduation, then bigger tasks at work, and now with the baby situation she just always seemed busy.

"Girl it's a day party so how can you say no. Just come for a little bit." Sarah begged.

"See a day party." Kesha smiled.

"Fine y'all. But I'm not drinkin or nun of that." She glared at them. Tatiana and Sarah still didn't know she was pregnant.

"Girl you still mad bout bein dicked down right." Sarah laughed.

"She is!" Tatiana chuckled.

"If you only knew." Kesha said under her breath as she took a sip of her drink.

Joy nudged her under the table. She would tell them in time but she was just accepting it herself. She just didn't want to deal with the judgment or the questions.

"Well, it's been some time. Let it go girl. Let's have some fun." Tatiana cheered.

"Yeah, Girl. My girl Layla coming here for a friend's event. She's from Miami and said this nigga got money; a legit businessman opening his own firm or whatever. It's going to be super classy. His friend is ballers so she told me to bring some baddies. Can someone say new bae?" Sarah told them as she continued to eat.

"Ooo it's finna be litty." Kesha squealed.

"Cool, so y'all be ready at Friday at 12. I can come get you from work Joy since your right by my crib." Sarah told the group.
