Dean had been gone for four months now, and every day since then has been a blur. Nothing has seemed right, the nights were colder, the days were longer, hunts seemed to turn out more bloody. You had promised to stay with Bobby because you didn’t want him to be alone and to be honest you didn’t want to be alone. Drinking whiskey and recalling good times you and bobby had with Dean. There had been times when they brought tears to your eyes but you never let them fall.

You woke up one morning and dragged yourself from the couch you had fallen asleep on. It seemed that bobby had splayed a blanket over you after you crashed. You made your way into the kitchen with messy hair and crumpled clothes. You turned on the coffee maker and grabbed a mug for yourself and Bobby. You knew he would want one even though he denied it opting for the bottle on his desk. On occasion you swiped the bottle and stashed it for yourself, then in the mornings, he would drink the coffee. When you poured the warm drink you added what you usually did, and did the same for him. Careful lifting the full mugs you made your way over to the scruffy faced man you had come to see as a father.

“Bobby, I got your coffee. Now don’t fight me on this, just drink the damn caffeine God knows you need it,” you stated firmly before placing the cup beside the book he was reading. “Alright, but it better have some more sugar than last time. It tasted as bitter as the mood lately,” he said and you gave a dark chuckle. Bobby wouldn’t seem like the guy to want sugar in his coffee but it was something that he really loved. “Believe me it has more than enough.” you said and sighed.

“Have you heard anything from Sam?” you asked before taking a sip of your drink. “Huh, I was just gonna ask you the same thing. That boy is as reckless as his brother.” he shook his head and readjusted his hat. You nodded your head and set your mug to the side. “Alright well, I’m going to take a shower I’ll be back soon.” you told him. “Take your coffee you always whine about it gettin’ cold.” he told you. You looked at him incredulously. “I do not whine.” you defended yourself. He just laughed “Yeah, ya do now go take your damn shower.” he said and you grumbled, grabbing your coffee and walking to the bathroom.

“How the hell am I supposed to drink the damn coffee while I shower?” you wondered to yourself. You grabbed clean clothes and a towel before turning on the water. You let it warm up while you thought of how to handle the whole coffee situation. “I guess I could chug it…” you mumbled to yourself. You sighed and brought the mug to your lips letting the caffeinated drink get to work on waking up your body.  When you finished it you hopped in the shower, wanting to stay there. Although you really didn’t want to be alone because your thoughts would wander to a place that was too dark for you now.
Hastily you washed your hair and scrubbed yourself clean before getting out.

You walked down the stairs letting your hair air dry as usual, the empty mug in hand. You quickly washed the cup and put it away then went to go find bobby. When you did you saw he was on the phone.
You saw the look on his face, it was one of annoyance and pain. “Bobby who was that, are you alright?” you asked and walked closer to him concern evident on your face.
“It was just a damn telemarketer,” he told you, but you knew him too well. “Bobby, c’mon you know I don’t buy that.” you told him. Your hand was placed on your hip and your weight was shifted to one side. “I’m not lyin’ ya idjit.” he said and turned to sit at his desk once again.
You sighed in annoyance because you knew you wouldn’t get the truth from him.

The day went on as usual until a knock sounded at the door. Getting up you made your way to the entry and opened it ready to decline any offer of some sort. The door opened and there stood a man you never thought you’d see again. Bobby now stood beside you and he looked at you both with a tired smile he said “Surprise.” immediately you splashed holy water in his face. It wasn’t burning but still, it could be a shifter or even a revenant. He took a step forward and looked directly at you. “(y/n)...” he mumbled. Bobby pushed you back and then everything went so fast you could barely comprehend the situation. You had your silver knife in your hand and lunged at him he tried to block you, you dropped the knife. Instantly your instincts kicked in and you swept his leg and he fell to the ground. Picking up the silver blade he got up and quickly took it from you.
