Kurapika stood over the stove, making breakfast. However, he was getting distracted by looking at the ring on his finger. He was married. Married. To Leorio. The man he least expected to get married to. He giggled when Leorio hugged him from behind. "Morning, Sunshine," Leorio sleepily mumbled. Kurapika turned his head and kissed him. "Good morning my dear," he replied. "You seem tired."

Leorio hummed and placed his head on top of Kurapika's. "I am," he mumbled. "I've been thinking all night." "About what?" "Nothing important. What are you making?" Kurapika smiled. "Pancakes," he answered. He stopped stirring the batter. "Would you mind pouring the batter in the pan," he asked. Leorio took the bowl and poured the batter into the pan. Soon, the pancakes were finished.

"Kurapika," Leorio said as they ate. "Could you settle for adoption?" Kurapika rolled his eyes. "Leorio," he groaned. "I told you! I want biological kids! It's possible!" Leorio sighed. "I mean you could give some blood to the kid," he suggested. "Maybe they'll get Scarlet Eyes?" "Leorio, be honest with me. As a doctor, are you one hundred percent sure that would work?" "It might?"

Kurapika set his silverware down and took a deep breath. "Leorio," he said, trying to remain calm. "There is a way for us to have kids with our blood our DNA. And you want to pass it up? Do you know how seriously stupid that is? Do you know how many couples like us wish they could have their own kids? Come on Leorio, think. We're lucky and need to take advantage of that."

Leorio looked upset. "I know," he muttered. "I know. But-" "But what Leorio," Kurapika interrupted. "What is stopping you?" "We just got married yesterday. It's too soon." "You're lying Leorio. I can tell." "I just don't think... that I want kids." "Why?" "Because I don't want any kids to end up like me, and I don't want to end up like my dad!" "Leorio-" "I don't want my kids to starve because their family doesn't have enough money! I don't want them to get hurt because their father got drunk! I- I want my kids to have a good childhood. So, I don't want kids."

Kurapika reached out to touch Leorio's shoulder but his hand was slapped away. "Don't Kurapika," Leorio muttered. He placed his head in his hands. "I love you," he muttered. "And I know how important family is to you. But I'm just not ready. I'm sorry." Kurapika wrapped his arms around Leorio. "It's okay," he comforted. "It's okay. If you don't want to... It's okay."
