In which the main four go to the beach and Leorio has a crisis
(Part 2 to Fuck Off Karen)

Killua and Gon ran up to the picnic table. They were both soaked. "We're hungry," Gon whined. Kurapika smiled. "Okay," he said. "But before you sit down put a towel on the seat. Wouldn't want to warp the wood." Before he could finish speaking the boys grabbed their towels. They threw them on the seat and sat.

"What did you bring old man," Killua asked grabbing the basket. Leorio pulled it back towards him. "Sandwiches," he said. "Specially made for each of us. I also brought drinks and chips." Leorio pulled out the sandwiches and one by one tossed them to his friends. Kurapika and Killua caught theirs but Gon's fell onto the table. He didn't seem to care. He just unwrapped the sandwich and took a bite.

Leorio began to look around. His manner had changed completely. "What are you doing," Killua asked. Leorio glanced at him, then back at the beach. "Scouting for women," he said. Killua scoffed. "Jeez," he replied. "I should've known." Leorio shrugged and took a sip of his drink. "It's the beach," he said. "Which means bikinis. And the only ugly one got scared away by Kurapika and me." Kurapika softly smiled and went back to his food.

A woman walked past their table. She was wearing a skimpy bikini. Leorio stared at her as she walked by. He smirked and turned back to the table. "You're not going to make a move," Kurapika asked. "You obviously find her attractive." Leorio shook his head. "Probably has a boyfriend," he said. "Call me a creep but... Cheap swimsuit, expensive earrings. That means she's off the market." His point was quickly proven.

A rather attractive man walked up to their table. He tapped Leorio on the shoulder. Leorio turned to him. The man leaned down getting close to Leorio's face. For a second, Leorio stopped breathing and felt his heart stop. After all, it was an attractive man. But Leorio was straight. Wasn't he?

Kurapika looked at Leorio. He seemed to be shocked. His eyes were a bit wide and his mouth slightly open. At first, Kurapika assumed his expression was because of anxiety. Possibly afraid of confrontation. But then he noticed something. A slight blush on Leorio's face.

Leorio heartbeat quickened as he spoke. "C-can I help you," he stammered. Dammit. Why was he acting like this? Why did he feel like this? And what was the feeling in his chest. It was like the feeling a teenage boy got when close to his crush. But it couldn't be that. This was another man.

The man spoke. "Yeah you can help me," he said. "Why were you checking out my girlfriend?" "Ella es atractiva. S-sorry. I-um I meant, she's attractive." The other man leaned in closer. He and Leorio's faces were almost touching. "Well, she's mine," he said. "Remember that." "S-sí."

The man pulled away. Leorio didn't move for a couple of seconds but soon enough he turned back to the table. His face was still red and he didn't say anything. He didn't want to. He was embarrassed? No, that wasn't it. Something else. Something that left a weird feeling in his stomach and... heart? That man got really close to him. Close enough to see the shine in his eyes. He had beautiful eyes. No. No, no, no. Leorio was straight. He was straight.

Leorio still seemed distracted. "You alright, Leorio," Kurapika asked. Leorio loudly cleared his throat. "Yeah," he lied. His voice cracked a bit and he grumbled. He continued to eat without a word. But his thoughts and eyes wandered. They were at a beach. With girls in bikinis and boys wearing nothing but swim shorts. The best of both worlds? No. Just women. But the men look nice too. No. No. No. Leorio couldn't help but argue with himself. This was the first time anything like this happened. Wasn't it? Leorio couldn't remember.

He looked up. He saw the couple from earlier. An attractive couple. He could give them both a chance. No. He groaned and stood. "I'm going to the car," he said. "I'll wait for you guys." "Leorio we might take another h-" "See ya!"

(Time Skip To Night)

The clock read 2:38. Leorio hadn't slept despite how tired he was. He was absorbed in his thoughts. The beach. Girls. Boys. Leorio tried to get the thoughts out of his head. So now he was lying in bed, listening to music.

He was pleasantly interrupted by his door opening then a knock. Leorio sat up and took out one earbud. Kurapika was at his door. "Hey, Sunshine." Leorio smiled. "What is it?" Kurapika shyly slinked into the room. "Well," he said, his face tinted pink. "I just noticed you were up so I wondered if you needed anyone to talk to or something."

Leorio shook his head. "Nah," he said. "Nothing I can think of." Kurapika frowned. "Oh," he said. "I'll just leave then." He turned to walk out of the room. He was stopped by Leorio saying his name. When he turned the other male looked embarrassed. His eyes were focussed on the floor and his hand on the back of his neck.

"There actually is something," he said. "Can you come here?" Kurapika walked over and sat next to his friend. "What's up," he asked. Leorio looked up at him. "You're gay, right?" "Yes. Why?" "How'd you know? I know that's not something I should ask but I'm serious." "Well, I guess when I saw a guy that was my type. My brain just clicked. It's hard to explain. Why?" "Unimportant."

Leorio let out a heavy sigh and they sat in silence. "Kurapika." The silence was broken. "Hm?" Leorio struggled to find the words. What was he supposed to say? He finally spoke. "Kurapika," he repeated the blonde's name. "C-can I kiss you?"

Kurapika's face went completely red. "W-what," he stuttered. Leorio put his hands up. "I know, it's a weird question," he replied. "And so sudden but I needed to ask. You see, I've been thinking..." He went on explaining his recent thoughts. About the beach and the how he felt about everyone there.

Kurapika nodded. "Okay," he said. "So when that man got in your face, you acted like that because?" "Because I found him hot, I guess? Kind of like the same reaction that I would have if boobs were in my face." "So, you like guys?" "I don't know."

They sat in silence. All that could be heard was the soft hum of the ac. That was until Leorio spoke. "Okay," he said. "This will probably sound weird but... C-can I kiss you? Just to see what it's like to kiss another guy! Which sounds a little rude and I apologize."

Kurapika's face was a bright red. He wasn't sure how to respond. On one hand, he could kiss Leorio. On the other, there were no feelings behind it. But it's still a kiss. "Uh. I guess," he said. "But it might be awkward. I've only kissed like two people." He awkwardly laughed and they both fell silent again. Why can't we just keep the conversation going?

Kurapika cleared his throat. "So are we going to do this or not," he asked. Leorio seemed to snap out of a trance. "Uh yeah," he replied. With that, he put his hand on the back of Kurapika's head. His hair is soft, he thought. Kurapika was blushing like crazy. And, somehow, it kept getting worse as Leorio pulled him closer. Then their lips touched.

The kiss lasted longer than planned. Long enough for Kurapika to practically melt into it. And for Leorio to take in every detail. Like how soft Kurapika's lips were and that he was wearing strawberry chapstick. He pulled away and took a deep breath.

Kurapika folded his hands in his lap as he looked at the floor. "So," he said. "Did that feel any different?" Leorio's face was also red. "Yeah," he replied. "It felt...right." Kurapika looked up, making eye contact with his friend. "Is it that not normal when you kiss girls?" Leorio hesitated before answering. "Sometimes. But that's when I like a girl. Romantically."

Kurapika's heart skipped a beat. Did that mean? Of course, it did. Too bad Leorio was an idiot.
