Leorio woke up to bright lights. He quickly shut his eyes again and put his arm over them. He has woken up like this enough times to know where he was. In the hospital. Of course. On the way there he had passed out.

"Leorio," Kurapika said. "You're awake."

"Yes," Leorio replied. "I can tell."

Kurapika stood up and pulled his chair over to Leorio's side. "How do you feel?"

"Like shit."

"I'm sure. The doctors gave you stitches and your foster parents left to get lunch. They also called the school to tell them that you wouldn't be there."

"Mhm. What about you?"

"I called my dad. He was pissed but I don't care. I'm just glad you're alright."

"I'm glad that you stayed."

"Of course I did. Whenever you get hurt, I'll be there."

Leorio smiled. "The same for you, Sunshine."

Kurapika smiled. His face went slightly red. "I like it when you call me that," he muttered.

"Do you, Sunshine?"

"Yes. I do."

"Does it make you smile?"

"Yes."

"Then I'll call you Sunshine more often. I love your smile."

"I love your smile."

"Mhm. I can one you up."

"How so?"

"Mhm...Guess."

Kurapika laughed. "I don't know! Just tell me!"

"Hmmm...no."

"You're gonna stress me out."

"Sorry then."

"Leorio."

"Fine. I'll say it in Spanish. Te quiero."

Kurapika sighed. "I hate you."

"No. You can't hate me. I'm your best friend."

"Mhm. That's true."

"Yep! I don't lie."

"Yes, you do."

"Whatever. You love me."

"I guess I do."
