"I have news," Leorio said as he swept the living room. "Wanna hear?" Kurapika, who was wiping down counters glanced at his husband. "Sure," he replied. Leorio smiled. "Gon texted me yesterday," he said. "While you were at work." "What did he say?" "Just asked if we could meet up." "I hope you said no." "I did. But uhm you want to see the messages?" "Why not?" Leorio pulled out his phone and held it up to his husband.
Gon: Hi Leorio!
Leorio: Oh. Hello Gon
Gon: How's it been? Killua and I met up on Whale Island again. It's been fun!
Leorio: I'm sure. I'm doing fine.
Gon: I was wondering if we could hang out! We can make our way out to York Shinsisco!
Leorio: I can't. I'm busy and so is Kurapika.
Gon: Oh, are you two talking again?
Leorio: Somewhat
Gon: That's good, nice to know that you're friends again! I hope we can meet soon :)
Kurapika looked back at what he was doing. "Nevermind that," he said, it was obvious he was a bit annoyed. "I've been looking for a job. I think I found one." He turned and smiled. "You'll never guess what it is."
Leorio smirked. "What," he asked. Kurapika excitedly clapped his hands. "Okay, judge me if you must but it's design! Clothing design!" Leorio slowly nodded. "Interesting," he said. "Are you actually excited about it?" "Yes. Why?" "You never struck me as being into that stuff." "I am. So, do you have any plans? With a kid, we're going to need all the money we can get."
It was Leorio's time to smile. "I'm actually going back to medical school," he said. "I'm sure I'll pass this time! My mental health is a lot better!" Kurapika set down his cloth. "That's great," he said. "I'm so happy for you! I'm happy for us!"
Leorio laughed. "Me too," he said. "You got a job that isn't life-threatening. I'm going back to school and?" He looked at Kurapika to finish his claim. The blonde grinned, "We're adopting! We're such a perfect couple!" He ran into Leorio's arms, who laughed. "I wouldn't say we're perfect." He was shushed by Kurapika who pressed his finger against Leorio's lips. "As of right now," he said. "We are perfect."
