Kurapika sighed. What time was it? 5:57, February 14th. Leorio was still at work. How could they keep him so late on Valentine's Day? He was married for god's sake!
Kurapika sighed and stood up. He walked to the kitchen and pulled out his phone. He dialed the hospital's number. It was the number Leorio gave him. It wasn't for emergencies. He opened the cupboard, using his shoulder to hold the phone to his ear. "Hunter's Hospital, how may I help you?" "Hello, this is Kurapika Paladiknight," Kurapika said with a slight pause. He had never said the name out loud before. It felt nice. "I'm calling because I have a question."
Kurapika pulled a wine glass out of the cupboard. "I was wondering how much longer my husband, Leorio Paladiknight, will be working," he continued, opening the fridge. The woman on the other line flipped through some papers. "I'm sorry," she said. "But Doctor Paladiknight hasn't been here since three-thirty. He left three hours ago."
Kurapika stopped pouring his wine. "Oh," he softly said. "Thank you." "Should I call him to see if he's alright?" "No, no. It's fine. Happy Valentine's Day." He hung up the phone. He stood in shock. Three hours ago? Where could he be?
Kurapika took a sip of the wine to calm his nerves. One sip turned into one glass. And one glass into two. He was stressed. But not soon after, the door opened. He perked up. "Kurapika," Leorio called out. "I'm home!" Kurapika stood and walked to the living room.
Leorio was at the door. He set down his briefcase. "Sorry, I'm so late," he said. "Work was holding me up." Kurapika knew that was a lie but kept his mouth shut. "It's alright," he said. "But I was a little worried." Leorio pulled a box of chocolate out. "Here," he said. "I didn't get you flowers." He didn't take off his coat. "Well," he said. "Go change. Don't think I don't have plans!"
Kurapika walked up to their room. Before changing he sat on the bed. He was thinking. Why would Leorio lie to him? And on Valentine's Day? Only getting him a small box of chocolates too? Kurapika went over the fact that he should be grateful. Leorio didn't have a lot of money after all. But... It was strange.
Kurapika sighed. He stood and opened his closet. What should he wear? It was definitely a date. It was Valentine's Day. Pants? A skirt? Blouse? Turtleneck?
Kurapika pulled a long pink sweater-dress off the hook. It was originally made for women but Kurapika loved it. It was soft and warm and a perfect fit. Plus Leorio bought it for him. He took off his shirt and put on a black tank-top. Over it, he put on the sweater-dress. He then put on black leggings underneath.
Kurapika walked into the bathroom. He decided that earrings might look nice with his outfit of choice. He chose a pair of golden ones that Leorio had also bought him. Most of his outfit was gifted to him by Leorio. Including the flats, he planned to wear with it. After putting the the shoes on he ran downstairs.
Leorio was still standing by the door. He was on his phone and seemed to be texting someone. He smiled then looked up. Turning it off he put the phone back in his pocket. "You ready to go," he asked. Kurapika slowly nodded. Who was Leorio messaging? A woman? Another man? Who?
Kurapika took Leorio's hand. His husband smiled at him. "You look beautiful," Leorio said. "The shoes? Earrings? And flats? All of the things I've bought for you?" Kurapika nodded, walking out the door.
This is part 1! And wow it's actually early instead if late! Lol.
