"Kurapika," Leorio ran into the living room. "Are you okay?"

Kurapika looked up from his book. "Yeah, I'm fine," he said. "Why?"

"I was just studying and I thought I heard something. Like-like a scream or a cry for help."

"Wasn't me and I didn't hear anything."

"Oh. Okay, I'll just go back to my room then."

"Are you feeling okay?"

"Yeah. I'm fine. Just a little shaken by that."

Kurapika frowned. He shut his book and stood. He walked towards his boyfriend and cupped Leorio's face in his hand. "You seem tired," he said.

Leorio nodded. He placed his hand on Kurapika's, enjoying the physical contact. "I am," he replied. "I've been having trouble sleeping lately. It was like this before but just got worse again."

"Come sit on the couch with me. We can put on a movie and cuddle. Maybe you'll be able to fall asleep."

"I doubt it, but I'll try."

"Good. Come on. What movie should we watch?"

Leorio was dragged over to the couch. Kurapika sat down and dragged him down as well.

"How about you pick a movie tonight," Leorio said. "I need to sleep. Put on one of those cheesy romances you like."

"They aren't cheesy! I enjoy them a lot."

"I don't."

Kurapika laughed. His smile made Leorio feel calm. He smiled and lied down. His head was at the end of the couch. He put his legs over Kurapika's lap.

Kurapika put up the recliner to the couch. He turned on the television and picked out a movie. It seemed like a cute, feel-good movie. A movie that would bore Leorio out of his mind.

About twenty minutes into the movie, Kurapika looked over at Leorio. He was relieved to see that Leorio's eyes were closed. Kurapika hoped that he was asleep, so he turned down the television volume and leaned back. He was going to finish watching the movie by himself. Before he could, he fell asleep.

Kurapika was woken by a loud crash. He jolted up. It had to have been Leorio, he wasn't on the couch anymore. Kurapika turned and looked into the kitchen. Leorio was in there. He was on the floor, beside him was a pan. He must've dropped it.

"Leorio," Kurapika said as he stood. "Are you alright?"

Leorio looked over at Kurapika. "Do you see it too," he asked.

Kurapika looked where Leorio was facing. As far as he could see, no one was there. "No," he said. "I don't see anyone."

Leorio looked back. He moved back. "You don't?"

Kurapika walked over to Leorio. He squatted down and looked right in front of him. Nothing. "There's nothing there Leorio," he said. "What is it?"

By now, Leorio was terrified. The thing was moving closer. "It looks like a demon," Leorio responded. "It's tall and completely black, like a shadow. It's thin and its limbs are long. It's smiling. Oh, God, its smile. It looks like it's just stretching its face out. And the teeth. The teeth are long and sharp." He crawled back some more. "Kurapika, I'm scared. It's getting closer. I'm scared."

Kurapika put a hand on Leorio's back. "It's okay," he said, trying to reassure his boyfriend. "It'll be okay. It's not real. Just stand up and come back on the couch."

Leorio took a deep breath. He looked over at Kurapika and nodded. He stood up and walked over to the couch. The two men sat and Kurapika put on another movie. This time, a movie that Leorio would enjoy.

Throughout the entire movie, Leorio wasn't able to fall asleep. He continued to look over his shoulder at the kitchen. Eventually, he stopped and looked at Kurapika. "It's gone," he said.

Kurapika nodded. "That's good," he said. "Now, go to sleep. I may not be the doctor but I do know that lack of sleep can cause hallucinations."

Leorio nodded. He lied down his head on Kurapika's lap. Kurapika played with Leorio's hair. Leorio hummed, enjoying the love. "I love you, Pika," he said.

Kurapika smiled. "I love you too, Leorio," he said. "Go to sleep. Or I'll get the pills."

"No way."

"I know. Now sleep."

"Okay. Okay. Goodnight."

"Goodnight."
