Kurapika woke to the sound of knocking on the door. He sat up and looked beside him, Leorio was still asleep. Guess who would have to answer the door. Kurapika groaned, waiting to see if Leorio would wake up. He didn't.

The knocking grew more aggressive. "Just a second," Kurapika called. He needed to change, he wasn't going to answer the door in this. Kurapika climbed out of bed, slightly stumbling as he did so. The most he was going to do right now was put on a t-shirt and shorts while hoping for the best.

Kurapika walked through the living room to the front door. When he opened it, Killua greeted him. "Hello, Kurapika," he said. "I know I just saw you yesterday but I'm here again. Gon left a present and was crying too much so I have to get it for him. Any idea- What are those marks on your wrist?"

Kurapika looked down. Marks from the handcuffs. He blushed, grabbing his wrist. Having a stranger see the marks was fine, but a friend? Let alone Killua? No.

"It's uhm, it's-" Kurapika tried to find the words but was cut off. "You know what," Killua said. "I don't think I want to know. Now, any idea where the gift might be?" "Oh um... Probably under the tree," Kurapika replied. Killua nodded and walked to the tree.

He picked up the box and turned to Kurapika. "Thank you," he said. "And you might want to cover up your wrist." With that, he walked out of the door.

Kurapika stretched. No use in trying to fall asleep now. It would be impossible. He yawned and walked into the kitchen. Trying to be as quiet as possible, he grabbed what would be needed to make pancakes. Pancakes were perfect for breakfast. Quick, easy, and they tasted good.

A few minutes later, there were two stacks of pancakes on the counter. Perfect. Kurapika walked down the hall to his bedroom. He jumped on the bed and shook Leorio. "Leorio," he said. "Wake up, my dear. I made breakfast." Leorio groaned. "But I'm still tired," he mumbled. Kurapika smiled. "I know," he replied. "But I don't want the food to get cold. Besides, we can lounge around all day."

Leorio sat up. "Fine," he said. "Thank you for cooking." Kurapika hummed. "You're welcome," he said. "Now out of bed. Max was left out of the room all night." Leorio swung his legs over the edge of the bed and stood. Slowly, he and Kurapika walked to the living room.

They sat on the couch to eat with the television on. Max was on Kurapika's lap. Kurapika lied his head on Leorio's shoulder. "I love you, Leorio," he said. Leorio pet his head. "I love you too, Pika," he said. "I love you so much. And I promise I'll never leave your side." Kurapika hummed. "I'll never leave you either."
