OC name meaning and origin

Zariah this name has three possible origins: the Arabic 'Zara' which means 'flower', the Hebrew name 'Azaria', meaning 'God has helped', or the Russian word "Zaria" which means 'sunrise/dawn'

Eric Delko watched his friend swimming at the beach with twin 10 year old kids one boy and one girl with a smile when the beautiful woman in the water notices him she walks out of the water over to him with a smile after she signed that she would return momentarily "having fun swimming with the crocodiles!?!"  Eric teases "we all gotta get are excitement from somewhere!"  the woman teases back and at the same time they hear the little boy holler "alligators!!"  the woman chuckles then says with a smile "you heard him Del they're alligators!"  Eric replies with a smile "my mistake!"  the two kids walk out of the water just as a a tall redheaded man in a suit walks up behind Eric "hey Shades!"  the woman teases with a smile Eric looks at her confused then turns to see his boss smiling back at her he turns back to his friend and asks with a curious tone "Shades!?!"  she replies "this is the one you call "H" right?!.... unfortunately I already have two of those having three would just be confusing!"  she wraps her arms around the little boy so that her arms create a "v" down to the center of his chest Eric chuckles then says with a smile "true!"  the first thing Lieutenant Horatio Caine noticed was that the girl signed every word she said the next thing he noticed was her eyes and how they seemed to sparkle like the stars so bright and beautiful.... the girl tilts her head at Horatio then introduced herself holding out her hand for him to shake "Zariah.... though they call me Tempest.... and this is Hamlet and Ophelia"  Horatio chuckles as he shakes her hand and says "Horatio Caine"  she smiles at him then says to her friend "so Del before we play kinky cuffs you might want to call your sister to watch them!"  Eric chuckles then says with a grin "I'm not here to arrest you!"  Zariah smiles and teases "why not!?! it could be fun!.... are the cuffs covered in feathers, fluff or perhaps both!?!.... I mean as long as they're not pink I suppose we could....!"  Eric laughs and Zariah's eyes meet Horatio Caine's once more and explains "H here is blind..... Ophelia is deaf"  she pauses then says with a playful tone "be careful.... I taught her how to read lips!"  Horatio Caine chuckles softly with a smile....

At the age of 6 Zariah was kidnapped and her parents were killed by her kidnappers.... her "new" parents "saved" her from her biological parents but the truth is her life was much worse AFTER she was made to live with her captors as though they were her parents the full truth is that her biological parents were kind and loving were as her new parents were not.... she wasn't the only one that they kidnapped there was always at least two children in the household though Zariah was the only one to survive.... there was always a new reason for the "parents" to "get rid of" their "children" most of the time it was because they didn't like their choice or the child did something they didn't like.... Zariah was the first child they had ever kidnapped to make their own and when she turned 16 they wanted her to "help" them find "the PERFECT child" to make their own.... she had grown up to be their (the children's.... her "siblings") supervisor the one who was SUPPOSE to watch and report EVERYTHING the child does but she turned the job around and became their protector.... she knew that the parents would NEVER get rid of her no matter what she did so she would take the punishment for her siblings no matter what it was or what they did.... when she was a child the "father" had burned off her fingerprints.... they had already decided that she would help them find new children at that time and figured that it would make it easier for her to do that if she didn't have any fingerprints.... in case you hadn't realized she was never adopted by her new parents not in the legal sense so there was no record of her new life.... also the mother was a big fan of Shakespeare so every child they made their own had their names changed to a character in a Shakespearean play.... except for Zariah herself who was named AFTER one of his plays.... somehow Zariah found a way to make sure that her siblings had found new and better homes as far away from the parents as possible.... she doesn't like cops for the main reason that they didn't DO anything to solve her biological parents murder they had arrested someone but it was the WRONG someone though the one they arrested did have a criminal record so it didn't matter that he didn't murder her parents Zariah had thought that they were just in a hurry to close the case as soon as possible and it is quite possible that she was right....

This particular day wasn't the first time Lt Horatio Caine had seen Zariah.... she had been waiting at the bus stop for her siblings to arrive on their bus with their guide dog at her side.... the bus driver is afraid of dogs but lied and said that she was allergic so everyday Zariah would drop off the dog and pick him up from the school though Hamlet and Ophelia seemed to enjoy riding the bus and the bus driver always made sure that they sat together so Zariah would only pick up the dog.... who's name is Horatio.... Hamlet and Ophelia both share him because their new parents were too cheap to buy two separate dogs they even made Zariah train the dog.... after she bought him herself of course.... to become their guide dog.... which she did she researched the "proper way" to train him for his "duty" and trained herself to train him as a cop would train a K-9 so that if she was ever not around they would still be protected.... just in case.... Horatio was sitting by her side as they waited for the bus with Eric's sister Marisol who always came with them and every now and then babysat the twins when Zariah was busy at work when all of the sudden Horatio shot off away from the bus stop to a Crime Scene nearby Marisol chuckles softly as Zariah rolls her eyes and follows him..... "Horatio no!"  Detective Frank Trip hears a familiar soft feminine voice say from behind him as he almost gets run over by a familiar dog he wasn't the only one who heard her for both Horatio Caine and Eric Delko's heads pop up as her voice rang out and Eric lets out a soft chuckle shaking his head at the dog who passes by Horatio's long legs "hey Trippy.... you're going to want to follow him!"  Zariah says with a smile waving over at the dog Frank looks at her confused but Horatio Caine does as she says somehow he knew that there was a "special" meaning to those words whether it was the fact that Eric seemed to know her or the badge that was clipped to her waist wd may never know once he found the dog he knew his instincts were right for he had found something that no one who combed the Crime Scene did something that helped them solve the case "good boy!"  Horatio Caine says patting the dog on the head he lead the dog who obediently followed him to his Hummer and gave him the "once over" just in case he had caught something else from the Crime Scene once the dog realized that Horatio Caine had finished he rushed back over to the waiting beauty and they headed back to the bus stop Horatio's eyes never left them till he could no longer see them as he smiles at the dog and owner as they walk away
