Horatio went with Zariah to her home and helped her wash the pups in her backyard with the hose he smiles at the sound of her laughter as his four pawed counterpart shakes the soapy water off his body as she tries to exfoliate the shampoo into his fur she looks over at him and smiles then lightly scrapes her teeth over her bottom lip like she was fighting the urge to do something he just wasn't sure what once they were finally finished washing both pups they take separate showers then head to Marisol's to pick up the kids and take them to the park to play Horatio sits on the bench watching her play with the pups and kids with a smile on his face she looks over and smiles at him then walks over takes his hand and leads him over to where the kids and pups were and "forces" him to join in the fun which to her surprise he does the smile he had never leaving his face as he listens to the laughter surrounding him.... a week or so later Zariah was walking with Horatio the dark/red retriever at her heels when he all of the sudden bolted like a pup on a mission and once she caught up to him she found him lightly licking a small girl who was walking aimlessly down the road in a bloody nightgown she snaps her fingers twice and Horatio takes a step back away from the child as she walks towards her and says softly as she gently checks her over "such a brave girl!.... let's get you home!.... Horatio search and rescue!"  the pup sniffs the blood on the child's clothes then starts running Zariah gently picks up the little girl then follows him while speed dialing his human counterpart letting him know what she and the four pawed Horatio found and once they reach the house.... Horatio Caine hears Zariah say softly from the other side of his phone "Horatio stay!"  then she gives him the address they were standing in front of "watch for him!"  he hears her say to the pup that has his name he smiles when he hears the pup bark then he hears a click telling him that she hung up and he calls his team and lets them know what was going on and they all head out.... Zariah gasps at the sight before her "let's get you some clean clothes huh?!.... after I figure out which room is yours!"  Zariah whispers to the sleeping girl in her arms "hopefully your family has something I can put this one in.... maybe a Ziploc bag or something!"  she whispers then heads towards the kitchen to find one.... that was hopefully clean.... once she finds a clean gallon Ziploc bag and pulls one out of the box then says softly "this should do!"  she walks out of the kitchen and starts wandering the house trying to find out where the little girls clothes were ignoring the massacre that surrounds her ESPECIALLY the baby under the young man's body once she finds what MIGHT belong to the girl in her arms she gently lays her down on the nearby bed and tries to calm the child who started crying once she felt Zariah's warmth leave her "shh shh it's alright Angel! we're just going to change you then you'll be right back in my arms I promise!"  she coos as she rubs her hand up and down the girls arm the girl stops crying and her eyes meet the woman who stands above her "that's right!.... good girl!.... such a brave girl!"  Zariah coos softly as she gently takes the bloody wet outfit off the child and puts the dress she found on her in its place she folds up the bloody outfit then slides it into the Ziploc bag sealing it closed then she picks the child back up and hears Horatio bark at something Zariah whispers with a smile "our hero has arrived!"  then she walks out of the room then the house and sees Horatio Caine climb out of his Hummer and walk over to her "yes yes I know I'm in trouble!.... and probably look like the bad guy stealing the child from the scene!"  she says Horatio Caine smiles "you got any aloe!? she's got a sunburn along the side of her face"  she asks as she hands him the Ziploc bag with the bloody outfit in it he raises an eyebrow at her as he gently takes it from her he couldn't believe that the first thought that flowed through his head was how she would make a good mother and how beautiful she looked with a child in her arms he was also surprised that the child in her arms was asleep but then again she was always good at staying calm under pressure so perhaps the child was "feeding" off that which was a good thing "I think she might be hungry and I have to find a way to change her in diaper.... her outfit was one thing but to add a fresh diaper to a Crime Scene.... didn't seem like a good idea!"  she says softly he smiles "it.... isn't good Ratio!"  she whispers he frowns then walks inside "not this time H!"  Zariah says to her pup who was starting to follow Horatio Caine inside "our job is to watch over this little one let's let Shades and his team take care of the rest!"  she says softly then she calls out "we're borrowing your air conditioning Ratio!"  Horatio Caine chuckles softly with a smile as he turns to face her then tosses his keys to her which she catches then she jogs over to his Hummer with the pup at her heels Zariah along with Horatio the pup climb in, Zariah sits down in the passenger side seat and Horatio (pup) sits in the back Zariah puts the key in the ignition turns it then hears the rumbling purr of the engine she turns the air conditioner on and sighs as the cool air hits her and the child in her arms "sorry Ratio!"  she whispers as she turns on the radio then changes the station to a classical one then looks out the window and watches as the father gets brought out on a stretcher "does anybody else find it odd that the father is the only survivor!?!"  she whispers to herself and shakes her head then looks down at the child in her arms lifting the girls small hand in her own she jumps when she hears the door open then turns to see Horatio smiling at her "need these do you!?"  she asks as she gently moves the hand that was in hers closer to him Horatio's smile grows and he gently scraps under the little girls fingernails "I have to give her back don't I?!"  she asks softly "not right now!"  he replies with a smile she smiles back and sees some form of special sparkle in his eyes "what is it!?!"  she asks curiously "hmm!?!.... oh nothing!"  he replies she raises a eyebrow at him but says nothing....
