Zariah stood by the Miami Dade Police Departments door with her children in front of her asleep in their double stroller and Caine at her heels and watched Horatio speak with Danny with a smile on her face she nods her head towards them and Caine rushes over to them and gives Danny kisses and Zariah follows she slides her hand over Horatio's shoulder as he says to Danny "I am going to be right in there every day if you need to talk all right?" feeling Zariah's hand slide over his shoulder Horatio cups his hand over it and their rings meet as he holds onto her hand and Danny nods at Horatio then looks up at the smiling Zariah and smiles back then he looks at Horatio and says "good man" Zariah laughs as Horatio replies "you too" Horatio brings Zariah's hand to his lips and kisses it then repeats "you too partner".... a month later Marisol treats Zariah to a spa day for her birthday leaving the children with Marisol's parents when a bunch of guys in masks rush in and unlike the rest of the woman who heard them shout orders and ran in fright Zariah stood her ground not budging even when one of them gripped her arm and tried to make her move "what do you want!?!" she demands without fear in her tone "look here boys we got ourselves a hero!" the man in the mask standing before her calls out "and your about to lose something you think is precious!" she growls softly the man looks down when he hears the click of a gun and sees something silver pointing at his center and his eyes widen Zariah hears one of the guys he came with order "I want those lockers open now! I want your purses in my bag and your keys in my hand!" and she asks the man in the mask standing in front of her "you want to see what I brought with me!?!.... alright but you're going to regret it!" she whistles a high-low piercing whistle and Caine comes running over and bites the man in the pubic arch and he screams "oh and just so you know I'm no hero I'm just not afraid of you or your buddies I was raised by people more frightening than all of you!" Zariah tells the masked man who was now bent over in pain holding his precious when she straightens she says "Caine, Marisol" and Caine rushes into the locker room where all the other hostages are then she hears someone walk over and stand behind her then a deep voice order "empty your pockets" she replies with a low stoic tone "no!" then she lifts her foot and kicks him in his precious making him bend and groan in pain and drop the gun he picked up "funny how you big and bad guys don't feel so tough until AFTER you steal the guards gun you all must be new to this or just plain stupid!" she says the man behind her growls "I'd stay down if I were you I could call him back and you could end up like your buddy or worse!" she tells him then she walks towards the lockers and makes her way through the crowd of scared women to find and check on Marisol who has a cut on her forehead from when she slipped by the pool "you should be alright though you might have a slight concussion so just try to relax" Zariah says softly as she tends to her friends wound Marisol nods then they hear a gun go off and a dog whimper knowing she was the only one who brought one with her Zariah shouts as she turns around to face the part of the lockers where she heard the shot come from "Caine!" she sees Caine laying on the floor bleeding and one of the masked men holding a gun up to a woman who held a small can of pepper spray and she (Zariah) shoots the man before he could take another shot she walks over to Caine and kneels before him then says as she checks him over "looks like we're going to have matching wounds now huh boy!?" she rips off a piece of her robe and ties his wound and says "don't worry we'll have Zandra look at it when she gets here she's better at this stuff than I am and she has the proper tools" then she stands up and says to the only other masked man in the locker room for the third was still tending to his wounded precious and says as she takes something out of her pocket "your buddies wanted to know what I had in my pocket well here it is!.... why don't you say hello to my fiancée Lieutenant Horatio Caine of the Miami Dade Crime Lab who's been listening in ever since you idiots entered the building!? and if I know him as well as I believe I do I'm betting beyond the shadow of a doubt that he is on his way! as I see it boys you can stay here and answer his wraith now or run and answer it later the choice as they say is yours!" then the masked men run taking treasures with them "you really need to stop letting me borrow your spare!" she says to the man on the other side of the phone then presses the end button and places it back into her pocket as she goes to check on Marisol with Caine limping slowly at her side "some birthday celebration huh Mari!?" she asks once she reaches her friend Marisol chuckles softly and Caine gives her a kiss.... "I'm sorry!" Zariah whispers as she stands in front of Horatio once he and Frank reach the spa "you're alright that's all that matters!" he replies with a smile then kisses her lips softly before walking away to check the scene of the crime "I'm surprise you didn't kill him" Zariah hears Frank say from behind her she chuckles then replies "I did however shoot him in the shoulder just like he did Caine.... I'm not one who believes in a life for a life and I had to act fast because he was aiming at the girl again otherwise I would have done the "proper" thing and let you and Ratio take care of it!" he cups her shoulder then walks away.... "AJ's taking H over to the hospital to watch over her he asked for the day off specifically for this reason.... well to watch over Olivia and Henry and Timothy and Deidra are at your parents place while your sister TRIES to pamper me for a birthday I don't even count as one!" Zariah tells Eric a few minutes later as she walks over to him and Horatio Caine Horatio raises an eyebrow at her and Eric chuckles softly "the parents used the day they took us as our birthdays luckily for Marisol I didn't just take pictures I took the my siblings birth certificates so they all spend the day they were actually born as their birthdays now!" she tells him he smiles at her then takes her hand and leads her to his Hummer "I'd rather stay with Caine" she tells him softly his mouth opens in a silent gasp for in his worry about her he forgot about her pup he lets go of her hand and says "get in, I'll go get him!" she smiles then opens the passenger side door and climbs inside as Horatio walks over to Alexx who was taking care of the pups wound then after making sure the pup can be moved he carefully picks him up and carries him to his Hummer then opens one of the back doors and lays the pup on the back seat and before they head to the Hospital Horatio takes Caine to his Vet to have him checked thoroughly which of course meant a overnight stay for the pup which Zariah didn't seem to mind since she knew he is in good hands.... Horatio stayed at the hospital long enough make sure Zariah was alright "I'll have AJ bring Ko and H with him I'm sure Olivia and Henry won't mind if Marisol and I both borrow a pup for the day!" she tells him he chuckles then kisses her lips and walks away.... thanks to Zariah allowing Horatio to process her he was able to find the chop shop that one of the cars that were stolen was taken to.... Zariah had Aaron Jessop take her home when he got there that way the Henry and Olivia would at least have one of the pups with them at all times she took a shower, changed and made herself something to eat then she went to Marisol's parents house and picked up her children.... Jessop went back to Marisol's to watch over Henry and Olivia while Zariah was in the shower and Zariah had drove to the spa with Marisol so her car was still in her and Horatio's driveway....
