"So much for your experiments huh Wolfie!?!"  Zariah says as she walks over to her friends Alex and Ryan who were being checked out by the paramedics after their Crime Scene becomes nothing but flames and ash Ryan chuckles then says with a smile "you always seem to know when we get in trouble!"  she replies with a smile "yeah well I'm a wife of a CSI who owns a police scanner and is friends with way too many police officers so one way or another people end up talking to me!"  he laughs then asks "you're not going to ask if we're okay!?"  she replies "nah I already know you are! I just have to see it for myself.... it's the mother in me!"  he chuckles then asks "how'd you know it was me!?"  she teasingly replies "it's always you!"   Alex chuckles "out of curiosity you think the plastic preserved anything after your body became extra crispy!?"  Zariah asks "I hope so!"  Ryan replies "everyone makes mistakes Ry it's how you handle the mistake after it was made that truly counts! besides it isn't like you could have known that would happen though with everything that was already plugged in I suppose it isn't that big of a surprise!"  she says he smiles "just try to behave yourself from now on I gotta go pick up my kids!"  she says then she pats them both on the shoulder and walks away.... a few weeks later Zariah meets Kyle's mother some would say her "other competition".... Yelina was her first "competition" back when she first started dating Horatio.... but first she wanted to show her support to her husband when he petitions for custody of his teenaged son and she walks into the Miami Dade Police Department in the dress she was going to wear to court and finds Horatio standing in one of the Interrogation Rooms staring out the window and quietly walks inside then softly places her hand on the center of his back as she stands at his side she moves her hand away when she feels Horatio jump at her touch Horatio turns to look at her and says softly "I'm sorry!"  she replies "it's alright you were lost in thought and I was a little too quiet entering the room"  he chuckles then kisses her lips she deepens the kiss as she brings her hip closer to his and cups the sides of his head with her hands making him moan softly which makes her smile she takes a step back and his eyes wander up and down her body "is there something wrong with the dress!?!"  she asks softly he smiles softly and replies "no, you look beautiful!"  she chuckles softly and teases with a smile "you're going to have to find a new word to use Lieutenant!"  he smiles then replies with a raised eyebrow "is that so!?!"  she nods with a hum biting her lip softly he sucks in his bottom lip and his breath catches as he watches her teeth gently scrape her bottom lip then slide back into her mouth making her lip bounce slightly he looks up as Frank walks in and places some papers and a pen on the table "all it needs is your signature wanted to make sure everything was on the books before Kyle's trail"  Frank tells Horatio "I appreciate that Frank"  Horatio replies "do I need to sign too or....!?! I'm your wife but I'm also new to all this I don't really know what to do!"  Zariah asks softly Horatio smiles at her then says softly "no"  she tilts her head and asks curiously "are you sure!?!"  he nods his smile never leaving his face then he turns to the table and signs the papers "who is this woman?"  Frank asks Zariah looks at her husband then starts to leave but stops when she feels him quickly but gently grip her hand "she's Kyle's mother"  Horatio tells Frank "that's not what I'm asking"  Frank says and after a short pause he asks "who is she?"  Horatio's eyes meet Zariah's and he searches them for any sign of confliction any emotion really but he could see none he also doesn't answer Frank's question and not just because he got lost in his wife's eyes it was possible he wasn't sure HOW to answer the question not anymore anyway not when he's so lost in love with the woman his eyes have yet to leave and continues to search but she just seemed so lost and blank like she wasn't sure how she should feel or act with such a question hanging in the air "custody's a big step Horatio"  Frank says Horatio nods then replies "yes it is"   Frank looks at Zariah and asks "are you sure you want....!?!"  she replies before he can finish "I support my husband in any decision he makes but all in all I hope in the end it will truly be Kyle's decision!"  Frank nods then takes the signed papers and leaves and Horatio's lips meet hers once more with a sensually hungry passionate kiss as he slides his hand up her cheek and around the back of her neck she could feel his heart race as his chest meets hers and she was sure he could feel hers she would have been worried if she didn't see the smile that graced his handsome face after he let her lips go and she allows him to gently lead her out of the room and they go and spend a few minutes with their children who were being watched over by Paula for a few minutes before he had to head back to work....
