While in the ambulance a half there Horatio kept calling out for the woman who was siting by his side holding his hand "I'm here Ratio! I'm here!"  Zariah whispers giving his cold hand a gentle squeeze as the paramedics call out reports that she wasn't even listening too her focus was mainly on the possibly dying man at her side "don't you leave us! don't you dare!"  she whispers giving his hand a squeeze "you leave us and I'll never forgive you Horatio Caine!"   she says her eyes not leaving his.... "I wouldn't doctor he's stubborn and doesn't like to listen to anyone but himself especially when there are other lives at stake!"  Zariah says to Horatio's doctor after her husband came out of surgery and he immediately got dressed "I'll look after him so just go focus on someone else! if you doubt me ask Alexx Woods she knows I know what I'm doing after all she's the one who taught me all I need to know!"  she adds the doctor reluctantly nods then walks away "go home!"  Horatio orders "order me around again and I'll have them strap you to a bed Lieutenant!"  she replies he chuckles "Paula's looking after them they'll be fine! you.... might pull a stitch!"  she adds he laughs "we'll pick up Caine then you can go after whoever you're after!"  she tells him he nods.... Horatio had suffered a perforating wound from a bullet fragment with blood loss and respiratory distress not too long after the doctor walks away Natalia walks over to Horatio and Zariah and the three of them leave the hospital and head to the Miami Dade Police Department where Paula brings Caine to them and allows Horatio and Zariah to have a few minutes with their children before taking Timothy and Deidra back out of the building.... Zariah leaves Horatio alone while he's in the building but if he decides to leave it she and Caine go with him surprisingly enough without argument from him it was almost as though he had to make sure she was really there and not a dream.... when Randy starting running away from Calleigh and Eric Caine rushed after him and jumped onto his chest knocking him down but unlike the others he has taken down he doesn't growl at the man who now lays below him with a look of wide eyed fear on his face "good boy Caine back!"  Zariah says as she comes out of the shadow of the tree she and Horatio were standing under Caine walks backwards and off the man as soon as Zariah's hand gripped the mans arm and gently brought him up to a standing position Randy stares at Zariah in awe of her beauty then his eyes meet Horatio who walked over behind his wife and says to the man she now gently holds within her grasp which was looser than it looked "we meet again Randy it's payback time"  if it wasn't for his wife being there Horatio would have pointed his gun at the man but in fear of her getting hurt in the mans place he let his words do all the talking though it sort of did help that the man had the "decency" to look afraid when he saw him Zariah grips her husbands shoulder with her free hand "you did this to yourself and your family! you have no one to blame but you! and you almost left two children without a father you should feel ashamed of what you did to your own! you are NOTHING but a coward looking for a scapegoat and we won't be it!!"  Zariah whispers into Randy's ear with a low growl then she hands Randy over to Eric who walked over to take the man from her and he cuffs him then she walks her husband back to his Hummer keeping him straight even though she could feel him weaken as it becomes hard for him to breathe "you're really feeling your age now aren't you Lieutenant!?!"  Zariah teases Horatio breathlessly chuckles then kisses her lips which only makes it harder for him to breathe she chuckles softly as she helps him up to the passenger side seat of his Hummer and turns the air conditioning on low once she climbs in the drivers side and he smiles as soon as he feels the cooling air hit his skin she checks his stitches to make sure they haven't popped open and he isn't bleeding which it was "here!"  she says handing him the picture he keeps on the visor of them and their kids and Kyle and he takes it then presses it up against his heart "that's where we'll always be!"  she tells him "I know!"  he replies as he slides his hand over her thigh he lifts the picture up to his lips and kisses it then sets it down she gets out the first aid kit, takes care of and rebandages his wound then she takes him back to the MDPD his hand never leaves her thigh and slowly starts to rub it as she drives "concentrate on your breathing not making me warm Lieutenant or I'll stop this Hummer and make it even harder for you to breathe out of spite!"  she teases he chuckles breathlessly.... Zariah sat on a bench in front of the Interrogation Room that Horatio and Randy were in with Natalia yet she paid more attention to her husbands body than what they.... well mostly Natalia.... were doing to the man they were interrogating watching Horatio's breathing which was coming out in shallow gasps as he tries to stay tall and strong and not because he knew his wife was watching but because he was in "work mode" and that was the way he always was when he interrogated any suspect she absentmindedly pets Caine's head as he sat beside her also watching Horatio and Natalia with a worried whine once Randy and Natalia leave the room Zariah walks into it and rubs her husbands back "here"  she says handing him a plastic bottle full of cold water "slowly"  she whispers as he takes a sip from it "thank you"  he says softly "I'm not going to tell you to slow down but slow down!"  she says he chuckles with a smile and lets her sit him down in the chair that is in the room then he feels Caine press his nose up against his and he pets the pup in front of him Zariah takes out her phone speed dials a number and says as she hands the phone to her husband "here!"  he looks at her oddly then takes the phone from her and puts it to his ear then he hears his children say "hi daddy!"  he chuckles and he listens to them talk and his body starts to relax and he talks with his children with a few breaks in-between so he could breathe luckily they did most of the talking he kept his words short and spoke so they knew he was still there and listening to everything they told him.... Zariah stayed at the MDPD but made sure Horatio at least took Caine with him when he went to the spa to make an arrest and hopefully find Toller but she stays close by whenever he's in the MDPD building even if she doesn't go in the rooms when he's interrogating she knew better than to directly get into his business she wouldn't let Horatio go to the train station for the meet "you need rest you're overworking yourself if you won't look after your health for yourself then do it for those who wait for you at home!"  Zariah says softly Horatio chuckles then kisses her forehead "you can go next time I promise!"  she says he chuckles.... as she promised Zariah let Horatio go find Toller at the landfill but unlike the last time she went with him, Eric, Walter, and Caine and when Toller lit the ground around the girl he had taken Zariah heads back to the Hummer and takes the fire extinguisher out of the back seat "go, I got her!"  she calls out as she rushes back over to where the screaming girl is and she pulls the tab aims and fires at the fire blowing it out Eric and Horatio follow Caine who went after Toller as soon as he started running and Zariah unties the girl.... Horatio follows the sound of Caine's barking as he rushes as quickly as he could to catch up to the pup he helped raise for over 6 years once Zariah knew that the girl was safe and with Walter she rushed to go find her husband who she knew was still having a hard time breathing and probably worse by now when she reached them she saw Caine standing on top of Toller who was laying on the ground with Horatio's gun pointed at his face she became worried when she heard Horatio wheezing worse than before and she slowly walks over to him and takes his gun out of his hand without moving it away from Toller who was staring at them in shock for there was nothing but anger in the woman's gorgeous face and Horatio was leaning up against her as though she was the only thing holding him up "you're a disgrace Toller!"  Zariah growls lowly and he smiles at her then says "I should have taken you!"  she replies "as if you would have a chance!"  Caine's growl becomes louder and more dangerous then they hear Eric yell "don't move Toller!"  Zariah replies with a projected tone "I don't think you have to worry about that Del!"  Eric smiles at her and Caine moves off of Toller as soon as Eric reached him then Eric cuffs Toller and orders the man to "get up! get up!"  and he pulls the man up off the ground "somebody's going to sleep good tonight!"  Zariah coos softly as Eric leads Toller away "yes I am!"  Horatio replies with a breathless wheezing coo into her ear she chuckles then takes his hand and walks him back to his Hummer with Caine at her heels once they reach the Hummer she has Horatio sit down in the passenger seat and once again turns the air conditioning on to cool him off then checks his stitches and changes his bandage then takes him back to the MDPD where his children wait for him with Paula and though they rushed over to him Timothy and Deidra were a lot more gentle when it came to hugging him than they usually were for they saw the blood on his shirt and his weakened state that he surprisingly didn't hide from them thanks to Zariah's coaxing letting him know that it's okay to be weak every once in a while especially in front of his children "it reminds them and you that you are human too!"  she had told him softly which made him chuckle.... Zariah, Timothy and Deidra walk away from Horatio when a blonde Homeland Security Agent walks over to him at first Horatio was confused then he saw his wife nod in the opposite direction and he looks over to see Renee Locklear walk towards him "beautiful family"  Renee says "thank you"  he replies once the agent leaves Zariah, Caine Timothy and Deidra take Horatio to the hospital to get checked out once again....
