"I'm looking for Lieutenant Horatio Caine"  Horatio hears a familiar soft celestial voice say from the doorway of the latest bomb scare home he turns to face the woman who stands within the open doorframe and says softly "Zariah!?!"  she smiles at him and says with a slight tease in her tone "my trainee really likes the box in the boys basket on his bike!"  he looks at her oddly then follows her out of the house she points to a boy who was sitting on a bike as though he was waiting for something or someone while petting a Labrador Retriever on the head "my trainees name is Delko the boys name is Connor and we really have to stop meeting like this!"  she tells him ending with a soft tease he chuckles then asks "how about lunch?!"  she replies "lunch hour is over so maybe dinner"  he chuckles then says with a smile "it's a date!"  he sees her blush and realizes that if he can keep his word.... which he always tries his best to do.... it will be her first date "I look forward to it!.... now go see what sort of gift your new friend brings!"  she replies once again ending with a tease he chuckles with a smile then walks over to the boy.... Zariah watches as Horatio pets the pup that now stands at his side and chats with the boy on the bike a minute or so later the boy and the pup walk over to her and Megan walks over to them "good boy Ko"  Zariah says as she pets the pups head "here Con you can feed him his treat"  she says as she hands the now smiling boy a dog treat and Delko gently takes it from his fingers then licks them clean making the boy chuckle.... Horatio smiles as he watches Conner walk straight over to Zariah and just like she did him he watches her until their eyes meet as the boy feeds the dog a treat he chuckles as the dog licks the boys fingers Zariah nods her head at the bike with a smile on her face Horatio smiles then turns his attention to the box that lays in the basket that is attached to the bike.... after Conner fed Delko his treat Zariah and the pup leave the Crime Scene and head home.... after all she has a date to prepare for and her anxious nerves were already through the roof.... after Horatio got his guy he calls up Zariah to see where he should pick her up then heads to the address she gave him at 6:30pm Zariah opens the front door of Marisol's house to find Horatio Caine standing on the other side Horatio's eyes widen when he sees the dress she was wearing "I figured you'd go home first"   she tells him "why!?!.... do you not like what I'm wearing!?!"  he asks with a teasing glint in his eyes and a smile "no you look....! well as far as I've seen you always look good but.... I figured you might want to shower first after dealing with whoever you had to deal with!"   she replies somewhat nervously he chuckles "should I have said I half expected chocolates and wine maybe flowers?!"  she asks he laughs softly she walks further out of the house with a nervous gait gripping the ends of the bottom of the skirt part of her dress and gently fanning it outward at her sides as she asks "is this ok!?!.... you never said where we were going so I wasn't sure what....!"  he replies with a soft smile "you look beautiful!"  his smile grows when he sees her blush "shall we!?"  he asks bending his arm so that she could slide hers through it she slowly walks over to him and slides her arm through his and they walk away from the house to Zariah's surprise Horatio takes her to his mentors funeral where she finally meets Megan who Horatio introduces her to but before the curly brown haired woman reaches them Zariah asks him with a nervous expression on her face "are you sure you want too....!?! I'm just a stranger! it's....!"  he smiles and reassures "fine!.... it's all going to be fine!.... I'm taking you to dinner afterwards"  she chuckles with a smile then she notices Megan walking towards them and starts to walk away but stops when she feels him quickly yet gently grip her hand once Megan reaches them the two women get introduced then seeing the expression on Megan's face Zariah slides out of Horatio's warm slightly loose grip and walks towards the church but doesn't go in until Horatio walks over to her and cups her hand once again in his own she gets introduced to Al's wife as a friend which somewhat surprised her but unlike the other times when she allowed her emotions to freely show on her beautiful face she hides it a little too well and puts on a "brave" smiling face as she acts as casual as she possibly could in a awkward situation.... after the funeral service/wake Horatio keeps his promise and takes Zariah out to dinner at a quaint little diner "so.... tell me about yourself"  he says a minute or so after they sit down at their table "I-I don't want to talk about that here!"  she says with a soft nervous tone he nods with a small smile after what she had already told him he somewhat understood why she wouldn't want to speak of her life in a public place so he came up with other topics to speak of they talked for what seemed like hours it was dark by the time Horatio returned Zariah back to where she was staying for the night to his surprise she quickly kissed his cheek before walking into the house he touched his cheek which was now warm from her soft peck and he smiles then heads back to his car and heads home....
