"That will never be us!"  Zariah says to Horatio as she and their children walk over to him while he watches a divorced couple be put into a police car to be sent to prison "I hope not"  he replies "why Horatio Caine have you lost faith in me already!?!"  she playfully drawls with a southern accent he chuckles then replies with a smile "never!"  she says with a smile "you better not!"  he chuckles then kisses her lips.... a month later Zariah, her children and Caine walk towards Horatio as he speaks with Yelina in front of the Miami Dade Police Department both Yelina and Horatio turn when they hear Timothy and Deidra say "dada"  Horatio smiles and kneels down ready to catch them in his arms as they walk towards him and a shocked looking Yelina Zariah smiles and teases "we always meet at the most opportuned times!"   Horatio chuckles as he lifts his children into his arms as he stands up "I know another rain check you know it rains a awful lot in the "The Sunshine State"!"   Zariah teases as she slides her hand down her husbands back Horatio chuckles "looks like next time we're bringing lunch to you.... hope you don't mind squished pb&j!"  Zariah teases Horatio smiles "come on you two daddy's gotta go back to work"  Zariah says to her children and they reach for her then she takes them into her arms and kisses Horatio's cheek then walks away with Caine at her heels and Horatio smiles at her departing figure and no it didn't skip his notice that she ignored Yelina's presence he was relieved however that she left before Michael Lipton was escorted out of the MDPD building.... on that very same day Horatio learns that Lipton is Ryan's Bookie.... "you think he's going to be Tiny's new plaything!?!"  Horatio hears Zariah say from behind him a few minutes after a officer took Anthony out of the Interrogation Room he turns around and asks with a chuckle in his tone "what!?!"  she playfully asks "you mean there's no guy named Tiny in prison!?! man I really need to stop watching cop shows!"  he laughs then asks "where....!?!"  she points towards Frank's desk and he looks over to see Frank entertaining their children under Caine's supervision "oh and we brought you this!"  she says holding up a squished pb&j sandwich "it's got strawberry jelly and creamy peanut butter on one side and grape jelly and crunchy peanut butter on the other since we didn't know which flavors you were in the mood for!"   she tells him he laughs then walks over and wraps his arm around her waist pulls her hip towards his and murmurs "yours!"  then he kisses her lips and he feels his lips vibrate as she chuckles which makes him smile "can I still file a sexual harassment suit even though I don't volunteer here anymore!?!"  she asks he laughs she gently pulls away from him and turns around then takes his hand and walks towards Frank's desk they chat with Frank for a few minutes then they along with their children and pup head out of the building "does it feel odd to you!?!"  Zariah asks as they walk "what do you mean!?!"  Horatio asks looking over at her "I don't know something just feels.... off about the place today!"  she replies he looks at her with concern in his eyes "what happened!?!"  she asks he doesn't say anything "I'm going to find out one way or another Ratio!"  she says "I know!"  he replies with a small smile "let me take you to your car"  he says after a small pause she nods and lets him lead her to her vehicle and he tells her why he saw Yelina that afternoon and what she found out as he helps her put their children in their carseats "speaking of Y!"  she says as she looks out her vehicles front window he turns his head and sees Yelina walk over to him Zariah forces a strained smile and he walks over to Yelina who watches as Zariah climbs into the drivers side of her vehicle then drive away.... a few weeks later Ryan stopped by to see Zariah in hopes of garnering some sympathy from her after he got fired and got everything but "you should have known better than that Ry! you lied to the one man who would protect you with everything he has! you cause more scrutiny for a department that is already being and looked at with a fine toothed comb as well as under a microscope for smaller things than what you have committed all because a bunch of people with way too much power hate your boss.... well ex-boss!.... so now that fine toothed comb has not only gotten finer but bigger and that microscope stronger all because you couldn't face the reality of what you did! making excuse after excuse of why you did it trying to make yourself either feel better or think you did nothing wrong rules ARE the law in that place and the one you broke....! your tough and macho act wasn't fooling anyone but yourself! everyone knew you were lying but couldn't do anything because you were too stubbornly stupid to come clean! those people aren't just your team they are your family! and until you start seeing that in a better light then the dull one you've been using well I guess you're more lost than I thought!.... we love you Ryan! but from how you've been acting it's kind of hard to see if you love us back!.... all in all Ryan it may have been your mistake but you aren't the only one that got in trouble for what each and everyone of you do whether it's within the building or not reflects on everyone inside that building what makes you look bad makes EVERYONE look bad!.... come and visit when you can but don't you EVER come looking for sympathy again because you won't get it here! not from me! you hurt my family Ryan! and if you've learned anything about me in the past couple of years that we've known each other you should know that I don't take my family getting hurt in any way very well at all! and just like Horatio I will protect them with everything I have no matter what and at this moment Ryan you.... are not family! after all we tried to look out for you but you made it seem like you only look out for yourself and that.... doesn't fly with me!"  Zariah tells him then she shuts the door in his face and he walks away with dejected steps.... "I may have done something wrong"  Horatio hears Zariah say with a sorrowful tone from the other side of his phone "what's that!?!"  he asks "I gave Ryan my opinion when he came to our house looking for sympathy!"  she replies he chuckles "it isn't funny Ratio! you know how horrible I am when it comes to speaking!"  she says with a slight smile in her tone he smiles then replies "yes I do!"  she chuckles then says "hey!"  he laughs "that's it no lunch for you Lieutenant!"  she teases "I beg to differ"  he says as he walks through their front door she turns and looks at him with a surprised expression on her face then hangs up as he says softly "hi!"  she rushes over to him, jumps into his arms and kisses his lips then replies breathlessly "hi!"  he smiles up at her then asks "where are they?!"  she replies "napping"  he nods then sets her down and his lips meet hers as his hands slides up her cheek, around her neck then through her hair her arms wrap themselves around his neck and she jumps back into his arms making him chuckle and he starts to walk towards their bedroom not letting her lips go as his fingers remove every piece of clothing she had on but instead of leaving a trail of clothes in their wake he somehow hooked them to his arm and dropped them on the floor as soon as they entered their room then he lays her on their bed and makes love to her without fully entering her just his fingers, lips and tongue play with and taste her wetness as soon as they reached it at this moment it was all about her and her pleasure, making her moan his name with the sensual softness he loves so much the feel of how her body reacts to everything he does to her every quiver, jolt and tingling sensation he brings to her as he proves his love for her in the best way possible he knew he didn't have very long before he had to head back to work and he wanted to make up for all the tens of thousands of "rain checks" for lunches his work has piled up so high it created a mountain higher than Mount Everest he also wanted to spend so time with his children before he had to return so there was a part of him that hoped they'd wake up and a part of him that hoped they didn't and of course they woke up just when Zariah's orgasm had reached its peak and he stops with a smile as his lips leave her core then he stands up and says "I'll take care of them"  she nods as she tries to catch her breath and calm her body he chuckles with a smile and walks out of the room and into the nursery to take care of his children and spend a few minutes with them before he headed back to work....
