Mac Attack👊🏻💥👊🏻

"Hey! I didn't know you were in New York!"  Zariah says to Horatio when she sees him walk out of a Crime Scene "surprise!"  he replies she chuckles "hey Mac"  she greets the Detective that walks up behind him "Miss Zariah"  Mac replies "oh god it's you all over again!"  she jokes looking at Horatio who chuckles Mac looks at one then the other and says as his eyes meet Zariah's "that explains the tan!"  she chuckles then replies "I don't know what you're talking about Detective I was born tan!"  Mac chuckles "I've always hated this city!"  she admits looking around her "then why'd you come back!?!"  Mac asks "well ever since this one arrested the parents I've been trapped in a courthouse I fear I'm going to have to go to court for the rest of my life so the world can see the full extent of the damage they've done!.... they were adopted why can't the courts just leave them alone and not force them to relive it!?!"  she replies he clasps his hand on her shoulder "enough about me I know how bad you two are and if he's back here it must be important so I'll let you two get back to it!.... stay safe and be careful!"  she says then she walks away with a wave and they both watch her departing figure Mac shakes his head then walks over to his vehicle and heads to the next place he and Horatio had to be with Horatio not too far behind.... "you caught him!"  Zariah says to Horatio two days later "that we did!"  Horatio replies with a smile "as if there was any doubt!"  Mac says as he walks over to them "I always doubt you Detective!"  she jokes "ouch that hurt!"  Mac says Horatio smiles "what are you smiling about Lieutenant!?!"  she playfully asks with a raised eyebrow Mac chuckles "my plane leaves in a hour so I'll see you at home!?"  Zariah says looking at Horatio who nods with a smile Mac looks at the two of them with a surprised expression on his face "yep sorry Mac you missed your chance!"  she jokes Mac chuckles with a smile then clasps her shoulder with his hand then once again watches her walk away.... to Zariah's surprise Horatio meets her at the airport and somehow becomes her seat partner on the plane sitting next to him her hand in his then waiting in the car when they return to Miami as he walks over to a funeral in progress....

"So, how do you know Mac?!"  Horatio asks as they sit on the plane "how could one not know a member of New York's finest!?!"  she teases he chuckles "he had court the first time I came to New York after the parents arrest he was the only one to treat me like a human when he found out who I was"  she tells him he squeezes her hand gently as she whispers softly "he's just a friend!"  he smiles and replies softly "I know!"  he didn't like the fact that she questioned his belief in her integrity but he understood it it was the first time he ever saw her "flirt" with another man even though she wasn't flirting just being herself at the time Mac was a stranger to him having only just met him the day she had first seen him in NYC and she knew about affairs happening in other places and she was constantly doubting human nature including her own he kisses her lips once his lips leave hers she lays her head on his shoulder and he smiles as he allows himself to get comfortable and rest even though neither of them fell asleep just enjoyed the silence and the fact that they were together.... two weeks later Zariah was sitting on the front of her vehicle with Caine by her side as they wait for the draw bridge to lower and she feels the bridge shake and she thinks of two things call Horatio and try to help as many of the frightened people on the bridge with her "Caine rescue!"  she says to the pup at her side and Caine hops off the car as she slides off it while putting her phone in her pocket and her Bluetooth headset in her ear "Ratio you're about to be needed at the draw bridge on Main a boat just hit the side of it!"  she says as soon as Horatio answers.... Horatio listens as Zariah calmly helps a couple out of their car then he hears a crunching sound and Caine barking and he rushes out of the Crime Lab and over to his vehicle.... "no Caine back!"  Zariah says as she hangs onto the edge of the broken crumbling bridge she had gotten the last couple out of their car just in time she knew people's fight, flight or freeze instincts when it came to situations like this but hers was always to help as much as she could she disappeared and all that mattered was the rest of the world and their safety luckily she was smart enough to use a Bluetooth headset when she called anyone if she hadn't she'd be in the water already but unluckily Horatio was still on the other end worried out of his mind for her safety "talk to me Ratio!.... I need to hear your voice!"  she says softly.... Horatio froze he couldn't think of anything to say his mind was on getting to the bridge as fast as possible and save her his worst fears come to life when he hears her scream "HORATIO!!"  then a splash and he shouts with a worried tone "ZARIAH!! ZARIAH!!!!".... a few minutes later Zariah feels the strength of a familiar arm wrap around her waist then her body being moved while pressed up against a familiar chest "Eric!?! I figured Horatio would be the one to play hero, then again it would be horrible if he got his suit wet wouldn't it!?!"  she says softly ending with a tease and she hears Eric chuckle then feels a second pair of familiar strong arms pull her up out of the water and her body hits a familiar muscular chest and she buries herself within it as his arms wrap around her and a familiar set of soft lips caress the top of her head and she tightens her hold on his waist then whispers "I'm sorry!"  to which the familiar sound of a soft smokey gravely voice that makes her body quiver and her heart flutter rapidly replies "you're safe that's all that matters!"  she looks up at the man she loves then around her and says with a frantically worried tone "Caine!"  the German Shepherd bounds over to her and she lets go of Horatio's body then kneels down to the pups level and hugs him "good boy!"  she whispers into his ear as she pets his head and Horatio smiles down at them Horatio takes off his suit jacket and wraps it around her shoulders and his smile grows as she sniffs it softly breathing in his scent "go help them I'll be ok.... you're warming me up later though!"  Zariah says ending with a tease he chuckles then walks over to the edge of the bridge she hung onto for dear life not too long ago and all he could think was how lucky they were it wasn't worse that she didn't.... no he couldn't think of that he had to focus on the body on the boat that caused the damage to the bridge "what were you doing here!?"  he asks "Caine's vet appointment was today I had to go the long way because I had to interview the parents of the child we're searching for"  she replies softly he nods "he needs you more than I do right now Ratio! he no longer has a voice you need to be his voice now and find out who did this and why!"  she tells him he smiles then turns to look at her with soft eyes then walks towards the bridge....
