The next time Zariah, the kids and pup see Kyle they along with Horatio were showing him his new apartment that Zariah and Horatio had gotten for him Horatio and Zariah even bought a new house for themselves a three bedroom three bathroom so that Deidra and Timothy would have their own bathroom and bedroom much to Zariah's surprise it's a waterfront beach house on "their" beach.... she actually thinks he may have had it built there for them for there wasn't one there before.... much to Horatio's surprise and happiness she loved the house and so did their kids and pup.... when Ryan almost gets attacked by a dog on a chain a few weeks later he calls Zariah to come "save" him from the German Shepherd's wrath Horatio turns and stares at his wife in shock when he sees her walk into his Crime Scene with a smile on her face "apparently Wolfie is not one with the canines like I thought he'd be!.... I thought you were supposed to call Animal Control for things like this!?!"  Zariah says with a chuckle in her tone as she passes by her husband and walks towards the backyard where she heard a dog barking Horatio chuckles with a smile as he watches her pass by him.... Ryan scoffs softly as he watches Zariah walk over to the dog who stopped barking as soon as she slowly started to make her way towards her "the secret is to show no fear.... they can sense what you're feeling Wolfie read your body language and facial expressions I wouldn't be surprised if they can hear your heart racing a mile a minute just by looking at their perfect white teeth!.... she's also a girl and we know how well you repel those!"  Zariah tells him with a slightly teasing tone as she pets the dog then she turns her attention to the pup and coos as she pets the sides of her face "good girl!"  Ryan says "hey!"  she chuckles then says "she's just protecting her home Wolfie! after all we're basically trespassers!.... maybe she can teach you how to howl at the moon later!"  he smiles shaking his head "I wonder just how well trained she is!"  she says softly "don't you dare!"  Ryan replies pointing his finger at her and shaking it she smiles as she takes the dog off her chain and slips the hook of a leash on her collar and says "you should know me better than that by now Wolfie I always come prepared!"  then she walks the dog out of the backyard through the house and towards the front yard where Animal Control was just driving up the driveway Horatio watches his wife walk the now calm dog from one end of the house to the other with a soft smile on his face and unfortunately Zariah HAD to give the pup to them since Ryan called them after he called her but before she left she took out a dental floss holder and checked her teeth for skin/fabric just in case she bit her momma's attacker then put it in a evidence bag walked inside and handed it to Horatio who looks at her oddly "I checked her teeth just in case it's possible whoever attacked her momma also got scared by her and that's why he dropped the knife but I wasn't sure if he got bit or not so I figured I'd....!"   she tells him she stops when she sees him smile she grips his wrist and gives it a light squeeze then says "we'll see you at lunch"  he nods with a smile then watches her walk away he looks down at the bag and sees that it only had his last name on it in her beautiful calligraphy that is nothing like his and he smiles then places it in his kit to fill it out the rest of the way later.... "Eric back off!"  Eric hears Zariah demand softly from behind him as he gets in the face of the photographer that took pictures of him and his team during an interrogation "what is it with you Cuban Americans and losing your cool under pressure!?!"  she teases as he backs away from the boy he looks up and sees her in a suit with her fathers badge clipped to her hip and he smiles "who are you!?!"  the boy asks with a awed tone which tells Eric that he hasn't been following or taking pictures of her and her kids "the officer with a overprotective dog that isn't as good a listener as the man in front of you!"  Zariah replies just then Caine rushes over stands in-between Eric and the boy and growls at the now frightened photographer/paparazzi and Eric smirks "remember kid honesty's the best sincerity and he'll know if your lying!"   she says pointing at her pup who's growl grows slightly louder scaring the boy even more "and you should never speak illy of ones parents no matter who they are! for we all can see you're not as tough as you pretend to be and you will soon learn you're not as protected either! though I don't understand how a "man" would ever hire a little boy like you! and if I catch you following me a growling CSI will be the least of your worries just be careful he might have rabies!"  she adds then she snaps her fingers twice and Caine bounds over to her then they walk away listening to Eric chuckle at her ending tease.... "hey nice suit!"  Eric says to Zariah when he jogs over to her a few minutes later "yeah I was feeling soft today!"  she replies sliding her hand over the velvety fabric of her suit he chuckles "hey Eric you mind getting his info for me?! you know vehicle and stuff just in case someone does start following me.... I don't think it'll be him but it's better to be safe than sorry"  she asks "sure I'll get it for you now"  he replies "thanks"  she says he nods then walks away coming back a minute or so later with a folder that had the info she asked for inside it "I was wondering why I wasn't being watched I mean I knew Horatio had been threatened but the man just mentioned his team not his family then Powell had told Horatio he heard I was dead.... I wonder if they thought he married your sister or perhaps my "hiding" under H worked a little too well!"  she tells him he lets out a short chuckle as sadness shines in his eyes "they got another one.... they named him Speedle"  she says with a smile he chuckles "I'm going to go pick up my kids we'll see you later"  she says "yeah see ya"  he replies with a wave she waves back then he watches her walk towards her vehicle and now that she mentioned something he wondered the same thing and yet he was somewhat glad people thought she was dead for that meant she and her children may be safe from them or at least he hopes so....
